Nicki Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, has reportedly been arrested for failing to register as a sex offender, per the Independent.
Petty, who Minaj married in 2019, was pulled over by Los Angeles law enforcement in November of last year, when they discovered that he had not registered as a sex offender in California.
US law requires that sex offenders register their status whenever they move to a new state, but the rapper's husband had failed to do so. According to TMZ, the 41-year-old handed himself into the police after failing to register since November.
After appearing before a judge in LA, it was determined that Petty must wear an ankle monitor and pay a $100,000 bond, with a second hearing scheduled for the 23rd of March.

Back in 1995, Petty was convicted of the attempted first-degree rape of a 16-year-old girl in 1994. He was sentenced to between 18 and 54 months in New York state prison, and served just under four years. His name remains on the New York City sex offenders register.

Then in 2006, Petty pled guilty to first-degree manslaughter and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. He ultimately served seven years.
In 2018, Minaj defended Petty’s actions on social media, writing: "He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship. But go awf, internet, y’all can’t run my life. y’all can’t even run y’all own life [sic]."
She even went so far to slam Wendy Williams as "demonic" after the talk show host discussed Petty's past on her television show.
Kenneth Petty began dating the rapper in late 2018, with the couple having reportedly known each other since childhood. Minaj announced they were married in October last year.
Petty's trial is set for 28 April.
