Actor Nicky Katt has sadly died at the age of 54.

The late actor's death was confirmed to Deadline by John Sloss, founder and partner of Sloss Law, the firm that provided the actor’s legal representation. Further details, including the cause of death, have not yet been released.
Since the news broke, tributes have poured in from colleagues and critics all mourning the loss of an actor known for his screen presence.
Beau Flynn, CEO of Flynn Picture Company, wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Heartbroken to learn about the way too early passing of the seriously talented actor Nicky Katt - God bless you my friend. What a privilege to know you and work with you on my first movie in 1995 - ‘johns’. Rest in peace brother."
Film critic Barry Hertz shared: “Nicky Katt should’ve/could’ve been 2010’s Walton Goggins. Phenomenal in everything from Boston Public to Planet Terror. RIP.”
Fans echoed the sentiment, remembering Katt for his standout roles and cult-favorite performances.
One user penned: "Nicky Katt is further proof that DAZED AND CONFUSED was one of the greatest ensemble pieces ever 'I only came here to do two things, kick ass and drink beer' Rest easy to a real rough & tumble man."
Another said he was "supporting star legend in the likes of The Dark Knight, Dazed And Confused, Boiler Room, The Limey, A Time To Kill & more," and added: "A genius talent who always delivered."

Katt began acting at just seven years old, landing his first TV credit on the 1977 series CHiPs.
He appeared in a string of early television hits, including Fantasy Island, Father Murphy, and Herbie the Love Bug, setting the stage for a decades-long career in Hollywood.
Fans best remember him for his iconic role as Clint Bruno in Richard Linklater’s 1993 coming-of-age classic Dazed and Confused, where he shared the screen with Matthew McConaughey, Parker Posey, and Ben Affleck.
He has an impressive resume of films and TV shows that included School of Rock (2003), Sister Act (1992), A Time To Kill, SubUrbia (1996), and Batman & Robin (1997).
His filmography also includes The Way of the Gun (2000), Insomnia (2002), and a range of guest appearances in hit series like Friends, The Guardian, King of the Hill, Monk, and Law and Order.
Katt’s last TV credit was in 2018, appearing in Hulu’s original series Casual. Two years later, in 2020, he reunited virtually with his Dazed and Confused co-stars for a special script reading to support the Voto Latino Foundation and March for Science.
He worked alongside many Hollywood stars over the years, including George Clooney, Whoopi Goldberg, Meryl Streep, Alicia Silverstone, and Renee Zellweger.
