Nicole Kidman, like a lot of Hollywood A-Listers, has one of those faces that never seems to age. The 51-year-old actress, known for her roles in films such as Eyes Wide Shut and Moulin Rouge, seems to have been around forever. But, rather than show signs of ageing and slowing down, Kidman seems to look exactly like she did when she began her career back in 1990.

But what is the key to Kidman's youthful appearance and slender frame? "I love to stay fit," she says in an interview with Parade.

"I meditate. The older you get, you have to take better care of yourself and eat better. Before I used to be able to have a bad week and now it’s like I can have a couple of bad days and then I have to get back on track.

"And I enjoy running. I enjoy doing things that are active. I’m a girl that loves to be outside and I love being in nature. And then just kind of drink joy, would be how I put it. There can be so much stress and I try to just breathe. And that’s why I meditate."

Kidman also says that she's not a fan of our new-found reliance on technology and prefers to put her phone down rather than pick it up: "I try not to be on the phone and texting. I’m a terrible texter. And I try to not be really prompt with returning texts because then you get used to that kind of person."

Kidman has been married to musician Keith Urban for 12 years now and the couple appear to be as strong as ever. Once again, she says the key to her happy marriage is something incredibly simple: "We don't text."

"Yep. We call. And that’s 12 years of marriage. We have our 12-year wedding anniversary tomorrow (June 25) and we’ve never texted. That is so not our relationship, which is interesting right? We call. We’ve done this since the very beginning."

While Kidman admits that her "no texting" rule has been beneficial for her relationship, she also isn't afraid to admit that it came into fruition due to her lack of technological nous.

"The reason it started at the beginning was because I didn’t know how to text [laughs] and it just kind of worked for us. So now we don’t. We just do voice to voice or skin to skin, as we always say.

"We talk all the time and we FaceTime but we just don’t text because I feel like texting can be misrepresentative at times. And I’ve had the thing where I reread texts and I’m like, 'What does that mean?' and then read it to somebody and go 'Can you interpret that?' I don’t want that between my lover and I."

While Kidman's relationship is undoubtedly going well, it's not enough to make you put down your phone, is it? I mean, a life without the group chat isn't a life worth living.
