Nicole Kidman has called out a journalist for asking a "sexist" question regarding her past relationship with Tom Cruise.
The 54-year-old actor recently took part in an interview with The Guardian prior to the release of her upcoming movie, Being the Ricardos - in which, Kidman plays beloved American comedian Lucille Ball.
The movie takes place across one painstaking week in the 1950s when Ball and husband Desi Arnaz struggle to balance their careers, pregnancy, and accusations of infidelity. Ball and Arnaz would divorce in 1960.
In her interview with The Guardian, Kidman praised the fact that the movie does not have a happy ending, and spoke out about how Ball and Arnaz's relationship impacted her.

"This film says you can make an extraordinary relationship thrive and leave remnants of it that exist forever," Kidman said, adding: "You can’t make people behave how you want them to, and sometimes you’re going to fall in love with someone who isn’t going to be the person you spend the rest of your life with.
"And I think that’s all very relatable. You may have kids with them. You may not, but they were very much in love."
The journalist conducting the interview, Eva Wiseman, then asked - "with exquisite care" - if Kidman's comments were anyway related to Tom Cruise.
Kidman and Cruise had a highly publicized marriage from 1990 to 2001, during which, they welcomed their two children to their family, Connor and Isabella.

In response to the journalist's suggestion, Kidman said: "Oh, my God, no, no. Absolutely not. No. I mean, that’s, honestly, so long ago that that isn’t in this equation. So no."
Wiseman notes in the article that Kidman was "angry" at the suggestion.
"And I would ask not to be pigeonholed that way, either," Kidman said. "It feels to me almost sexist, because I’m not sure anyone would say that to a man. And at some point, you go, 'Give me my life. In its own right.'"
Following her marriage to Cruise, Kidman started a relationship with 'Stupid Boy' singer Keith Urban. The pair married in 2006 and welcomed their two children, Faith and Sunday.
