Following the tragic death of NYPD Blue star Austin Majors, a cause of death has now been confirmed by the medical examiner's office.
Majors, renowned for his seven-season stint on the hit TV series NYPD Blue during his youth, sadly died aged 27 earlier this year.
He first rose to prominence as a gifted child actor, captivating audiences with his portrayal of Theo Sipowicz, the son of the show's central character Detective Andy Sipowicz, in the gripping police drama.
An autopsy on the actor's remains was concluded on February 13 and the results have since outlined how he lost his life at such a young age.

As reported by TMZ, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office has attributed Majors death to fentanyl toxicity and has been labeled as accidental.
In the wake of Majors' untimely departure, his family conveyed their heartfelt sentiments through a statement provided to TMZ, saying, "[Majors] was a loving, artistic, brilliant, and kind human being. Austin took great joy and pride in his acting career."
It was first reported that Austin's demise occurred while he was residing in a homeless housing facility in L.A, and the medical examiner's report lists the location as "residence".
The statement from his family continued: "He was an active Eagle Scout and graduated Salutatorian in High School. He went on to graduate from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts with a passion of directing and music producing.
"Austin’s younger sister, Kali, says her fondest memories with Austin were growing up on set with him, volunteering at events with Kids With a Cause, and backpacking together.
"Austin was the kind of son, brother, grandson, and nephew that made us proud and we will miss him deeply forever."
Kicking off his acting journey in 1997 with a role in the film Nevada, where he portrayed a young boy, Majors later ventured into The Price Of Air three years later.
His breakthrough role on NYPD Blue arrived in 1999, propelling him into the limelight as he contributed his talents to 48 episodes before his departure in 2004. During this period, he lent his voice to Treasure Planet.

Majors' presence in the entertainment world expanded as he graced popular shows like American Dad!, Desperate Housewives, and ER. In a bittersweet finale to his acting career, he made a guest appearance in a Season Four episode of How I Met Your Mother in 2009.
Our thoughts remain with Majors' loved ones and fans at this time.
