Olivia Wilde has taken to Twitter to hit back at right-wing commentator Candace Owens, who criticized Harry Styles for wearing a dress on the cover of US Vogue.
Styles recently became Vogue's first-ever solo male cover star - and he marked the milestone by wearing a dress.

While the singer and actor was widely praised for going against rigid gender norms, there were some people who left negative comments about the 26-year-old online.
For example, Owens took to Twitter to slam Styles, writing: "There is no society that can survive without strong men.
"The East knows this. In the west, the steady feminization of our men at the same time that Marxism is being taught to our children is not a coincidence. It is an outright attack. Bring back manly men."

Wilde, who will be starring alongside the former One Direction singer in the upcoming movie Don’t Worry Darling, tweeted in response to the Trump supporter's harsh comments: "You’re pathetic."

The actress, known for her role as Remy 'Thirteen' Hadley, gushed about Styles to Vogue, praising his "confidence" in breaking away from gender norms.
She explained: "To me, he's very modern and I hope that this brand of confidence as a male that Harry has - truly devoid of any traces of toxic masculinity - is indicative of his generation and therefore the future of the world.
"I think he is in many ways championing that, spearheading that. It's pretty powerful and kind of extraordinary to see someone in his position redefining what it can mean to be a man with confidence."
Wilde continued: "She [costume designer Arianne Phillips] and I did a little victory dance when we heard that we officially had Styles in the film, because we knew that he has a real appreciation for fashion and style.
"And this movie is incredibly stylistic. It’s very heightened and opulent, and I'm really grateful that he is so enthusiastic about that element of the process - some actors just don't care."
