Following the heartbreaking news that rock legend Meat Loaf has passed away at the age of 74, many of the rocker's fans have been taking to social media to share their favorite moments from his career.
Some shared their favorite live music performances, others shared videos from Meat Loaf's acting career... and others shared the moment he was RKO'd by Randy Orton on WWE's Monday Night Raw.
You see, back in 2010, WWE was inviting several celebrities onto its flagship show to play "guest host" - a concept that saw different celebrities and wrestling legends take control of the show for one night only. Although rapper Flavor Flav was technically the guest host for the May 10 edition of Raw, fans will always fondly remember the show for Meat Loaf's appearance.
Taking place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Meat Loaf took to the ring in an attempt to get former WWE champion Randy Orton to change his entrance theme for a track off the rocker's latest album Hang Cool Teddy Bear.
During the segment, Meat Loaf started to belt out tracks from the album, as those in attendance at the Mellon Arena cheered on. However, Orton was far from impressed and dropped Meat Loaf with his finishing maneuver, the RKO.
Following the news of the rock icon's death, many fans have taken to social media to shine a spotlight on the often forgotten moment.
One fan tweeted: "The fact that at his age he took an RKO from Orton speaks volumes about how much he loved to entertain! #RIPMeatLoaf".
A second added: "A reminder that Meat Loaf once promoted a new album by taking a terrible looking RKO off Randy Orton at the age of 62..."
A third tweeted: "Who remembers Meat Loaf getting hit with an RKO by Randy Orton on #WWERaw?! The late star could do it all."
Following the show, Meat Loaf spoke fondly of his time in the ring, saying in a video on WWE's YouTube channel: "You know what, let me just tell you this - yeah, I'm okay, a little fuzzy - but, I wanted the RKO. Dude, how cool was that? How many people can actually say - walk around the world - say, 'Randy Orton RKO'd me'?"
The iconic rocker added: "And, I think he's gonna use 'Elvis In Vegas' as his theme song!"
He ended the video by saying: "Maybe when I retire and people ask me, 'What's the highlight of your career?' I can say, 'I got RKO'd in Pittsburgh by Randy Orton.'"
Getting RKO'd in his 60s? What's more rock and roll than that?
