A 2011 video of Adele pausing mid-concert to help a fan is being reshared on social media...
The clip, which shows the now-33-year-old singer directing medics to help a member of the audience who had fainted, has resurfaced online following the eight deaths and many injuries that occurred at Travis Scott's Astroworld concert in Houston, Texas, on Friday.
In the video, Adele can be seen performing one of her greatest hits, 'Rolling in the Deep', during a run of shows at the Hammersmith Apollo in 2011.
In the middle of the chorus, she catches sight of someone who has passed out in the crowd and instantly halts her performance.
"Stop, stop, stop - someone's fainted again. Excuse me, medic, right in the middle," the singer says.
"Can you see?" she asks the medical team, pointing at the fainted person. "Can someone act like they care, please? Someone's fainted over there."
When the medics make their way into the crowd, Adele asks audience members to let them through and uses her higher vantage point to guide them to the right spot. "Thank you guys, make way, they're coming up behind you in the white," she says.
Once help has reached the fainted fan, Adele asks the team if they're alright and waits for an affirmative before restarting the show. "Thank you. Guys, this is 'Rolling in the Deep!'"
The video has been viewed over 20 million times since it was posted two days ago, and attracted over 46,000 comments. Many TikTok users pointed out how simple it is for a performer to help members of the audience in distress.
"Oh wow look how easy it is to stop a concert," one commented.
Many of the comments highlighted the difference between Adele's approach and Scott's.
"She noticed ONE person...so tell me how he failed to miss SO MANY," said one TikTok user.
"This is how you genuinely care for your fans at a show," added another.
Footage has also emerged on social media showing the moment Travis Scott paused his set after spotting an ambulance in the middle of the crowd.
Watch the alarming moment unfold in the video below (Warning - strong language):In the video, the rapper can be seen looking concerned, before saying: "There's an ambulance in the- Woah, woah..."
For roughly 30 seconds, Scott can then be seen looking around in apparent confusion over the unfolding situation. He then asks everybody in the crowd to put their "middle fingers up to the sky". After a brief talk with his team, the rapper asked everybody to put "two hands to the sky".
Scott then continues with his performance, telling his fans: "I wanna make this motherf***ing ground shake, God dammit."
Mail Online reports that eight fans, including a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, were crushed to death at the Astroworld Festival on Friday during a crowd surge.
Scott, 30, continued to perform for up to 30 minutes while crowds chanted 'stop the show.' He has since spoken out about the tragedy, and been hit with a slew of lawsuits from surviving victims and families.
According to Newsweek, other performers including Harry Styles, Linkin Park, and Billie Eilish are also being praised as videos surface of them helping fans during concerts. One clip of Harry Styles stopping his performance to check on a fan has amassed 9.6 million views since being posted two days ago.
