Fans have been left stunned after it was revealed how much Tom Cruise was paid for his epic stunt at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The 62-year-old Mission Impossible actor was among several A-listers to participate in the Olympics closing ceremony on August 11, as the torch was handed over from Paris to Los Angeles, where the next event will be held in 2028.

During his segment, Cruise dramatically abseiled off the Stade de France roof and landed in a crowd of fans before jumping on a motorbike and riding out of the stadium while holding the Olympic flag.

A pre-recorded video then showed the Top Gun star traveling through the French capital and getting onto a plane before he eventually landed at the famous Hollywood sign in LA, which is where the next Olympics will be held.

Watch Cruise's stunt below:

Casey Wasserman, the president and chairman of the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, gushed about Cruise's participation in the Paris Games.

Speaking at the CNBC x Boardroom: Game Plan panel at the Fairmont Miramar hotel in Santa Monica, California, he said: "He finished filming Mission: Impossible at 6PM in London, got right on a plane," Page Six reports.

"He landed in LA at 4AM and filmed the scene where he pulls onto a military plane,” the entertainment executive revealed, per the Hollywood Reporter.

Wasserman praised the Golden Globe winner for being "involved" and "engaged" every step of the way and then revealed a shocking fact: Cruise did the stunt for free.

“We’re like, ‘Well, there’s no way we’re getting this. We’re going to get four hours of filming time. We’ll do the thing… with the Hollywood sign, he’ll hand the thing off and he’s done. Maybe we’ll get the other stuff, and the rest will be just a stunt double,'" the president explained.

"About five minutes into the presentation, (Cruise) goes, ‘I’m in. But I’m only doing it if I get to do everything,’” he added.

Many people have applauded Cruise for participating in the Olympics closing ceremony for free. "It's Tom's world, and we're living in it," one user on X remarked, while a second commented: "That’s my king."

A third user shared a message to the actor, stating that he "showed the true spirit of the games. I wish others had your integrity!"

The father-of-three's epic stunt at the games is a nod to his forthcoming movie, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, which will be released in May 2025.

Paramount Pictures shared a teaser of the movie and penned a statement expressing gratitude to the actor for his involvement in the franchise.

The statement read: “Today’s closing ceremonies brought our world another incredible moment from Tom Cruise, one that has us looking back on many before it. No matter the mission, he’s always accepted it."

“We want to take this opportunity to thank Tom for all that he has done for our industry and art forms as both an actor and a producer,” they continued. “He’s consistently strived for the utmost competence across any and all skills that will better the story and experience for the audience.”

Cruise responded to the post with: “I’m incredibly proud of all that we’ve done together. I look forward to sharing our next Mission!”
