We are just a couple of weeks away from the most wonderful day of the year. A time for indulging in delicious foods, spending quality time with loved ones, exchanging gifts, oh, and for putting on your family's go-to Christmas movie. Whether it's a classic film you're after, a kid's flick, or a romantic comedy, there really is a festive movie for everyone. One of my personal favorites, for instance, is the beloved 2003 rom-com Love Actually.
The beautifully made flick is perfect for the holiday season. It's just all kinds of heartwarming and one you can watch with all the family. With scenes of Emma Thompson crying, Andrew Lincoln holding up "secret" messages for love interest Keira Knightley and an adorable homage to Titanic - it really knows how to tug on our delicate, little heartstrings.

Included in the film are nine intertwined stories about complicated relationships and the pursuit of love. Knightley, of course, plays one-half of one of the couples in the movie.
But did you know that the actress, who portrayed the newlywed Juliet, was just 18 when the film was released in 2003, while Brodie-Sangster, who portrayed the very young-looking Sam, was 13 years old? This, of course, means that there was just a five-year age gap between the two actors - despite being a generation apart in the movie.
In any case, when a viral tweet last week highlighted this fact, Twitter was in shock.

One user posted a meme that read, “Okay, was anybody going to tell me that there is a 5 year age gap between Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Keira Knightly [sic] / or was I just supposed to find that out on Twitter myself?”
“He looks 5 and she looks 25,” added another.

We are just a couple of weeks away from the most wonderful day of the year. A time for indulging in delicious foods, spending quality time with loved ones, exchanging gifts, oh, and for putting on your family's go-to Christmas movie.
Whether it's a classic film you're after, a guilty pleasure kids movie, or a romantic comedy, there really is a festive movie for everyone.
And one of the most beloved Christmas movies out there is Richard Curtis' 2003 rom-com Love Actually.
The beautifully made flick is perfect for the holiday season. It's just all kinds of heartwarming and one you can watch with all the family - and it really does star a plethora of famous faces.
From the late Alan Rickman making Emma Thompson (and the rest of us) cry with his infidelity, to Hugh Grant making us all laugh as he dances around Number 10 to 'Jump' - there really is something for everyone.
In fact, the movie includes nine intertwined stories about complicated relationships and the pursuit of love - and two of the most heart-wrenching are that of Kiera Knightley and then child-star Thomas Brodie-Sangster.

In the film, Knightley plays Juliet, who is unknowingly involved in a love triangle with her husband Peter, and Peter's best friend, Mark (played by Andrew Lincoln).
And, without a doubt, the cutest love story in the movie is that of schoolboy Brodie-Sangster - who plays Sam in the festive flick, who has fallen in love with American classmate Joanna (Olivia Olson).
However, no matter how popular the movie has remained, people on social media still cannot get over the real-life age difference between actors Knightley and Brodie-Sangster.
At the time of filming, Brodie-Sangster was just 13 years old and looked remarkably fresh-faced. Meanwhile, Knightley - who played an actual married woman in the movie, was only 18.
This, of course, means that there was just a five-year age gap between the two actors - despite appearing to be an entire generation apart in the movie.
In any case, every Christmas, this revelation is enough to make people flock to Twitter and share their dismay.
Replying to another tweet about Brodie-Sangster, one Twitter-user wrote: "I can't get over the fact that he was only 5 years younger then Keira Knightley in Love Actually. He def didn't look 13... Just..."

And in response to another tweet about Brodie-Sangster's timeless appearance, one person typed: "Mad when you think that Kiera Knightley was only 5 and half years old than him in Love Actually..."

And the tweets just continue to roll in...

It's that time of year again when we all cozy up and get stuck in with some classic Christmas movies! And just like clockwork, one movie, in particular, is shocking fans all over again...
Love Actually is a bona fide festive staple, with fans indulging in countless watches despite it being nearly 20 years old!
Beloved British actress Keira Knightley made an unforgettable appearance in the 2003 romcom, and once again, everyone is bewildered by how old she was when shooting the cherished title.
Despite portraying the sophisticated newlywed, Juliet – whom many of us would assume to be in her mid-twenties – Keira was just 18 years old when Love Actually came out in movie theaters, and 17 during filming.
In recent years, the Pirates of the Caribbean star has reminisced over the uplifting movie and spoken about how young he was on set, she even revealed in an interview that her teenaged skin affected her character's wardrobe!
Check out the interview clip below:When speaking to BBC film critic Ali Plumb, she got candid about a certain infamous hat she wore during her character's climactic scene. Plumb asked the star if she had any fashion regrets, quizzing her on the 2000s headgear, to which she replied: "Do you want to know why the hat was there?
"I had a massive spot in the middle of my forehead," the award-winning actress admitted.
"This is the problem with being 17 and being in films," Keira explained, "I mean it was humungous!”
She charmingly continued: "There was no choice but we had to find a hat to cover it because there was no lighting, there was no make-up that was going to cover it."
Naturally, fans in the comments section couldn't quite get over the revelation.
One commenter wrote: "Woah woah woah... wait... SHE WAS 17 IN THAT FILM???!"
A second added: "She was only 17???? She did so many things before that!"
"17!!! She wasn't even able to get married in real life then lool how jarring it must have been to be getting married in that scene," a third added.
In the movie, Juliet marries Peter (Chiwetel Ejiofor) but his best man Mark (Andrew Lincoln) is desperately in love with her – they don't make them like this anymore!
Chiwetel was 26 at the time, meaning there was an eight-year gap between the on-screen newlyweds. Furthermore, Andrew was 30 upon its release, which adds a whole new layer when watching that famous 'cards on the doorstep' scene!
Another character that highlights the bizarre age gaps within the world of Love Actually is Sam, the adorable little boy who played Liam Neeson's son.
We all remember Thomas Brodie Sangster playing the young hopeless romantic as he set out to impress his first major crush by getting involved with his school's Christmas pageant.
Well – and brace yourself for this one – Thomas was 13 years old when he played Sam, meaning he was mindbogglingly just five years younger than Keira!
As you can imagine, fans haven't been able to wrap their heads around how the little boy playing drums in the school play, and the bride with multiple admirers, were played by two actors so similar in age!
A viral Twitter post seems to do the rounds every year as the holidays inch closer, which makes everyone find comfort in the unanimous astonishment.
It reads: "Yearly reminder that there is only a five year age gap between Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Keira Knightley in Love Actually."
One to think about during your annual watch of this holiday go-to!

For many people, Christmas is all about spending time with the family and spreading the love.
But for Alan Rickman in Love Actually, it's all about bringing the wonderful Emma Thompson to tears after buying the world's ugliest necklace for his secretary.
Yes, it has been more than 20 years since the release of Richard Curtis' Christmas classic, Love Actually.
The popular romantic comedy is a favorite festive watch for many people over the holidays. Featuring an A-list cast, the movie weaves together multiple love stories set in the weeks leading up to Christmas in London.
From the UK prime minister (Hugh Grant) falling for one of his staff (Martine McCutcheon) to a recent widow (Liam Neeson) helping his stepson (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) impress his school crush - there's a lot of love to go around.
Except, not in one household.
Despite being one of the most beloved actors of all time, Alan Rickman sadly plays a helpless fool in this movie - and his actions are still being felt by viewers to this day.
Alongside on-screen wife Emma Thompson, the duo portrays Karen and Harry, a married couple facing their own set of challenges during the Christmas season.
Karen and Harry initially appear to be a loving couple, living a seemingly happy and comfortable life with their children. However, as the film progresses, it becomes evident that cracks are forming in their relationship. Harry, the managing director of a design agency, becomes entangled in an emotional affair with his secretary, Mia, played by Heike Makatsch.
The storyline takes a heartbreaking turn as Karen discovers a beautifully wrapped gift that she assumes is a necklace, only to find out that it's a Joni Mitchell CD. (But after rewatching the movie, I can categorically say that the CD is a much better gift than the ugly necklace).
However, after realizing that Harry had chosen to pursue an affair, viewers see Karen retreat to her bedroom, close the door, and silently break down to the melancholic tunes of Joni Mitchell's 'Both Sides Now'. It's a raw and vulnerable moment that never fails to rile up social media. Relive the heartbreaking moment below:
Seriously, more than 20 years on, and people on X (formerly known as Twitter) are still p*ssed.
"It's been twenty years... and I'm still absolutely furious at Alan Rickman for buying that office tart the necklace and breaking Emma Thompson's heart," one person wrote.
"Emma Thompson is EVERYTHING. I still want to punch Alan Rickman’s character (although I dearly loved Alan Rickman)," a second viewer added.
A third angry viewer tweeted: "I still want to kill Alan Rickman for breaking Emma Thompson's heart though. Big jerk meanie!!!"
A fourth added: "The years may tick by but my outrage at Alan Rickman for buying that office tart a gold necklace and screwing over Emma Thompson never fades..."
"Watching Love Actually and still mad at Alan Rickman for breaking Emma Thompson's heart for that office tart," another wrote.
So there you have it. No matter how treasured Alan Rickman was and how much we all love his other countless incredible performances... it looks like people still hold a grudge.
