Animal rights group PETA has named a rescue cow after Kim Kardashian.
The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals decided to name the cow after the reality TV star this week as a tribute to her decision to adopt a meat-free and dairy-free diet.
In a tweet on May 8, PETA India uploaded a picture of the cow alongside the caption: "For [Mother's] day, PETA India names rescued mother cow 'Kim Kowdashian' after reality TV star Kim Kardashian.
"Thanks for promoting a dairy-free diet @KimKardashian!"

PETA elaborated on its publicity stunt in a statement posted on its official website, which reads that the movement is "thanking the mother of four for showing compassion to moms of all species by encouraging her family and fans to go vegan."
"As one of the most-followed people on [Instagram], Kim has the potential to help save animals' lives by inspiring her legion of dedicated fans to follow her lead and keep animal-derived foods off their plates," PETA adds.
The statement continues that a PETA-supported sanctuary in India won custody of 'Kim Kowdashian' from her former owner, who was caught abusing her on the street.
Cared for by Indian volunteers, Kim the cow is reportedly much happier in her new life after making friends with a bullock named Sonya and a fellow cow named Meena since arriving at the sanctuary.
Kardashian has previously endorsed a vegan lifestyle in her social media posts. Back in 2020, she stated in a Twitter Q&A with her fans: "I eat mostly plant-based. No meat anymore."
A fan then asked her: "I only have one question and I’ll ask till the day I die. You inspired me to go more the plant-based route. And since then I’ve been wanting to know what you eat in a day when you’re eating fully plant-based."
Kim promptly replied: "Oatmeal and vegan sausage for breakfast, vegan tacos are my fave for lunch! Salads are good too!"
Earlier this year, Kardashian took to Instagram to show off her toned physique in a post made in February.
She shared an Instagram pic with her 220 million followers on the platform, in which she flaunting her abs and wrote in a caption: "Plant-based does a body good."
