Wilson announced the news with a heartfelt Instagram post.

She captioned the post with a nod to her new relationship: "I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess. #loveislove."

They later announced their engagement in February 2023.

Well, the couple exchanged vows on Saturday, September 28, as confirmed by sources to PEOPLE.

Italy holds special meaning for the couple, as it was their first vacation spot after going public with their relationship.

Wilson, whose directorial debut The Deb premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month, revealed to PEOPLE in May 2022 that the pair had been introduced "through a friend."

Their relationship blossomed after they connected over the phone. "

And that was a really good way to get to know each other," Wilson said at the time. "It was a bit old-school in that sense — very romantic."

Agruma, the founder of the sustainable clothing brand Lemon Limon, has been strong support for Wilson, especially since the birth of Wilson’s daughter, Royce Lillian, in November 2022.

During an interview on Australia’s The Morning Show, Agruma reflected on how welcoming Royce via surrogate had transformed their lives.

"It's like you start thinking about someone else instead of yourself, priorities change," Agruma said.

"When you think, 'Aw, I wish I would go have a massage' or something, instead you're like, 'No, I just want to spend time with her and be at home.'"

In other Wilson news, earlier this year she revealed how she lost her virginity, urging others not to feel pressured into having sex before they are ready.

"Not everybody has to lose their virginity as a teenager," Wilson told PEOPLE. "People can wait till they're ready or wait till they're a bit more mature. And I think that could be a positive message."

She added: "You obviously don't have to wait until you're in your thirties like me, but you shouldn't feel pressure as a young person."

Despite her candidness now, Wilson admitted that discussing the topic wasn't always easy for her.

Reflecting on past insecurities, she shared that she often avoided conversations about her virginity, even making up stories to dodge questions about her age at the time.

"I would often try to avoid conversations about the topic so I wouldn't have to reveal how old I was when I lost my virginity," she confessed. "Normally I would just leave the room when the conversation was happening."

Describing herself as a "late bloomer," the Pitch Perfect star speculated on how societal norms may have delayed her sexual experiences. She noted that if she had been born in a different era, she might have explored her sexuality earlier.

"I just knew I was attracted to men, and that was the normal thing," Wilson explained. "And so when I started opening myself up probably more after my father's death and realizing, oh, even though I'd seen marriage as a terrible thing and waste of time, I started opening myself up to that."

In her memoir Rebel Rising, Wilson revealed that comedian and actor Mickey Gooch Jr. was her first sexual partner, when she was 35 years old.
