Rebel Wilson suffered an injury while on the set of her latest movie, resulting in her having to be rushed to the hospital.
The 43-year-old Australian actress was on the set of Bride Hard in the early hours of the morning when she encountered an unexpected mishap while performing a stunt.
Following the accident, Wilson was rushed to the hospital where she underwent treatment for the injuries that she sustained.
The incident resulted in visible cuts on her face, which she shared with her followers on Instagram.
"NOT the way I wanted to end this movie!" Wilson candidly expressed. "Three stitches and in hospital last night after a stunt accident at 4am."
Bride Hard is an action comedy set in Savannah, Georgia, that follows Wilson as a secret agent grappling with one of her most challenging missions to date - serving as the Maid of Honor for her childhood best friend.
The film is directed by Simon West, acclaimed for his work on Expendables 2, who envisions a winning combination of action, adventure, and humor.
"Bride Hard combines action, adventure, and comedy," West enthused. "These are genres I love to mix together. I've done it in the past with films like Expendables 2 or even going back to Con-Air and Tomb Raider. I think audiences will love this. It operates on so many levels. It's exciting, glamorous, a huge ensemble cast, and with Rebel Wilson in the lead, it's guaranteed to be hilarious."
While the entertainment industry faces disruptions due to strikes and labor disputes, Bride Hard has been granted special permission to proceed with production.
Despite the challenges faced by other projects, the action comedy has been deemed an independent film by SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists), allowing filming and development to continue.
SAG-AFTRA issued a statement underscoring the importance of their Interim Agreement, which enables performers and crews to sustain themselves during these turbulent times while ensuring their rights and interests are upheld.
"The Interim Agreement gives many of our journeyman performers and crews the opportunity to pay their rent and feed their families," SAG-AFTRA explained, via the Independent. "This approach maintains our strength, solidarity, and upper hand with the AMPTP until they yield to the deal we deserve."
The guild emphasized that the Interim Agreement is not a waiver, but a comprehensive contract that safeguards the interests of their members and promotes collaboration between producers and performers under these unique circumstances.
"This Interim Agreement was created for several reasons, all of which are aimed at protecting the interests of our members, helping them successfully navigate the strike, and demonstrating to the AMPTP that other producers are eager to work with our members under these terms," SAG-AFTRA clarified.
We wish Wilson a speedy recovery and hopefully, she'll be back on set in no time!
