Rebel Wilson has revealed the heartwarming inspiration behind her baby girl's name.

Earlier this week, the 42-year-old Pitch Perfect star announced the arrival of her daughter Royce Lillian Elizabeth Wilson, who was welcomed via a surrogate.

"Beyond proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, born this past week via surrogate," Wilson wrote on her Instagram on Monday (November 7). "I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle!"

Now, the actress spoke with PEOPLE magazine about her newborn's birth and revealed the special meaning behind her baby's full name.

Check out her baby announcement below:

I wanted an original name starting with the letter R and so eventually landed on that one," she said.

The other R moniker in the Australian actress' life belongs to girlfriend Ramona Agruma, who she has been publically dating since June.

Wilson also explained her daughter's middle names, sharing: "Lillian and Elizabeth are both family names carried by women in my family who I admire. Elizabeth, which is also my middle name, after the late Queen [Elizabeth]."

As for life as a new mom, Wilson revealed that holding Royce for the first time was an "overwhelming and exciting" experience.

"My love for her is just overflowing. She is gorgeous and perfect. I felt like, 'Wow, this is such a precious miracle,'" she warmly added.

In her post announcing her daughter's birth, the new mom also noted that she is "forever grateful to everyone who has been involved," adding that the process "has been years in the making".

"Particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care," she wrote. "Thank you for helping me start my own family, it's an amazing gift. The BEST gift!!"

Hours after Wilson announced the birth of her baby, Agruma shared photos on Instagram from her partner's extravagant baby shower that she c0-hosted with friends.

In the pictures, the actress was seen donning a light pink Valentino dress and silver heels as she indulged in treats with her buddies and posed with balloons.

The Hustle actress has been open about her plans to become a mother. In May, she spoke with PEOPLE about fertility and said that, in 2019, a doctor told her that she would have a better chance of harvesting her eggs if she lost some weight.

"I thought, 'Oh God, this guy's so rude.' He was right. I was carrying around a lot of excess weight. It's almost like I didn't think of my own needs. I thought of a future child's needs that really inspired me to get healthier," she told the outlet.

In addition to this, the Bridesmaids star also told her Instagram followers in May 2021 that she had received "bad news" and was "struggling with fertility" in a candid social media post.

"The universe works in mysterious ways and sometimes it all doesn’t make sense… but I hope there’s light about to shine through all the dark clouds," she wrote at the time.

A year later, Wilson opened up in an interview with Yahoo that she was considering surrogacy and freezing her eggs for a "better chance" at conceiving a child.

"I just know I still have eggs, so I can still try, and still have chances, but it’s a real emotional rollercoaster, where you think you might be successful and it doesn't turn out that way," she shared.

"Having a family would be great if I’m blessed with that. I’ll have to see. Unfortunately, I don’t know where it’s going to go, but I have been trying for the past few years. I just really sympathize with anyone going through it," she added.

Well, it looks like Wilson was blessed with her own bundle of joy. Congratulations again!
