British comedian Ricky Gervais has said that he does not fear death and that he would like his body to be thrown to the lions when he dies.

Speaking to the Daily Star, The Office creator insisted that he does not care about his physical body once he passes away.

Are you honestly surprised? This is the man who roasted Hollywood in front of the world:

To further stress this point, Gervais - an avid activist for animal welfare - said: "Feed me to the lions.

"I like the idea of the two lions eating me and they go for the soft bits first and they have got a testicle each – and they are about six feet apart.

"It will be like Lady And The Tramp. Just two lions just chewing my testicles. Brilliant.

"By the time I am 78 my testicles will be six feet apart."

The 59-year-old star also revealed that he "likes the idea" of pathologists examining his body after he has died after refusing to worry about the impact his love of booze and junk food is having on him.

The After Life star said: "I like the idea that medical students would cut me open and they'd go, 'what the f*** is this? What has he been doing? This is disgusting'."

Gervais has previously insisted that he is not scared of death. He said: "Roll on death. It’s going to happen, isn’t it? There’s nothing wrong with being dead.

"The best thing about being dead is that you don’t know about it. That is the best thing. It’s like being stupid – it’s only painful for others, so it’s fine."

(In all honestly, that's quite a nice way to think about it...)

Gervais also happily admitted that he has been indulging in his vices while in lockdown with partner Jane Fallon, 59.

He said: "I made sure there was enough booze in the house for three months. In Armageddon, if it is the end of civilisation, honestly I would swap my last toilet roll for a bottle of wine.

"I always have enough booze for a nuclear winter.

"We are always on the couch with a bottle of wine watching Netflix by 6pm."

To be honest, who isn't these days?

And never the people-person, Gervais proudly admitted that he has enjoyed being stuck at home, saying: "I don’t like people coming to the house, or getting dressed up to go places. I prefer animals. I don’t hate people, but I don’t want to have to deal with them."

Could this be the most relatable celebrity interview ever? Take away the lions feasting on my boys and it is probably a 'yes'.
