Rihanna's fans have been rushing to her defense after she was seen holding her son by his feet at his second birthday party.

The 36-year-old 'Work' hitmaker and her partner, A$AP Rocky, celebrated their firstborn son RZA's birthday on Saturday, May 11.

The couple hosted a private party with family and friends at Color Factory in New York City, according to photos and videos shared by two party guests: producer President Hitkidd and his wife, makeup artist Jasmine B. Cook.

The pair's youngest son, 9-month-old Riot Rose - whom they welcomed months after the singer's 2023 Super Bowl halftime show performance - was also present at the event.

The parents-of-two went all out for the party, which appeared to be pink-themed.

The special event had toys, slides, a ball pit, and cut-out pictures of the little boy, as well as a host of adorable pillows of his face.

In one clip shared on the makeup artist's Instagram - and soon posted on other social media platforms - partygoers serenaded little RZA with the “Happy Birthday” song.

The 'Umbrella' singer can be seen holding her restless toddler, who was crawling around her lap, by his legs, swinging him back and forth playfully. Everyone, including her rapper partner, laughed.

The two-year-old seemed to enjoy being held upside down by his mon, but since the clip has gone viral, it has led to many users questioning the singer.

One person on X (formerly Twitter) said: "That’s not the right way to hold a young child! But she did not hold him upside down for long so it couldn’t hurt him."

Another pointed out: "If this was a normal person yall would of had an outrage," while a third quipped: "Why is Rihanna trying to pull money out of a baby by hanging him upside down?!"

However, many of the Grammy-winning musician's fans rushed to her defense.

"I hold my daughter like this all the time. She have the time of her life. Let her have fun with her kids," one user hit back.

A second chimed in: "Kids love stuff like that. He probably asked her to do this 70 times a day ONLY parents will understand this and it harmless."

"Breaking news: Loving mother plays with son," someone added.

The 35-year-old rapper took to Instagram to commemorate his son's birthday, penning: "HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY 2 MY 1st BORN BABY BOY RZA."

The first few adorable snaps in the carousel showed the family playing with their children.

Additional photos revealed more candid moments, from a selfie of Rocky and RZA making the same face to images of the two boys enjoying a beach day with their superstar mom.
