After weeks of self-isolation, some of us are starting to miss the simple things in life. Things like going grocery shopping without being met with empty shelves, going for a drink with colleagues after an eight-hour shift and perhaps most of all - we miss the company of our nearest and dearest.
However, having a good set of self-isolating buddies can really make a huge difference. Recently, Robert Irwin, son of Steve Irwin, revealed that one of his isolation buddies is a giant Aldabra tortoise named Igloo.
Taking to social media, Robert shared a pic of him and the creature.
Needless to say, plenty of social media users gushed over the epic photo.
One person wrote: "oh to be robert irwin living his best life with a tortoise."
Another added: "So sick of the seriousness that comes with working in the ER. Here's a smile for us all. Thanks Irwin Family!!"
A third said: "I should be so lucky! Isolation with Igloo the massive tortoise!"
A different Twitter noted the resemblance between Robert and his late father, writing, "Wow you look like your Dad in this photo!"
Robert's mom Terri Irwin announced in a later tweet that the tortoise featured in her son's photo is up for adoption.
"You can “adopt” our gorgeous Aldabra tortoise," she wrote before clarifying in jest, "He’s the one on the left."
This comes over a week after Robert's sister Bindi got married to her longtime boyfriend Chandler Powell amid the coronavirus pandemic. The pair tied the knot in a very low-key ceremony at the Australia Zoo with only Bindi's mother and brother present as guests.
Taking to Instagram to pay tribute to the pair on their special day, Robert wrote:
"This is a day that we will never forget. Bindi and Chandler, words cannot describe how happy and proud I am that today you started your married life and celebrated love during a difficult time for our world.
And I was beyond honoured to get to walk Bindi down the aisle today. Even though all of your wedding plans had to change at the last minute to keep everyone safe and healthy, it truly was an emotional and beautifully spontaneous day... I know that Dad was with us, and we are all so delighted for your future as husband and wife. I love you both."
