Former UFC and WWE champion Ronda Rousey has been slammed online after posting two videos on social media showcasing the resources she has on her farm that allows her and husband Travis Browne to live self-sufficiently.

Taking to social media on Friday to show off her sustainable ranch in America - called Browsey Acres - Rousey revealed how she and Browne already have a ready-made stockpile of supplies that is perfect for the self-isolation during the coronavirus pandemic.

In the videos, Rousey "jokingly" shows off their vegetable patch, fruit trees, Tesla water tanks, chicken coop, freezers full of meat, and solar panels.

Check out the first of Rousey's videos below. Do you think she is bragging?

Sharing the two videos with her 12.8 million Instagram followers, Rousey wrote in the description:

"Our coronavirus panic shopping list is: Nonexistent.

"It’s no secret I’ve been a proud preppier for years - but let’s all learn from this pandemic panic and be a little more self-sufficient and prepared in the future.

"Taking steps to live sustainably takes time but ultimately saves money, permanently eliminates water and power bills, reduces our carbon footprint, and is just plain healthier.

"We started @browsey_acres with just a compost bin and a few boxes of @soylent, which then became just a small herb garden, then a full garden (admittedly still under construction) then a few chickens, then a few more chickens (and ducks!), then a whole steer, then a solar roof, then a water catchment system.

"Start small! Just start! Let’s stop panicking and start preparing! Stay safe out there and #StayRowdyMyFriends!"

However, not everybody found Rousey's videos enlightening, and soon the comments section was filled with Instagram users slamming the 33-year-old MMA star-turned-pro-wrestler.

One Instagram user wrote: "Not cool. This is bragging. So many don't have food".

Many people pointed out that Rousey's self-sufficient lifestyle was only achievable as a result of her fortune. Instagram user @razberriedelite wrote: But also how to you even start when you're drowning in student loans and bills to take care of your family".

Which was echoed by @tomaszewski12, who typed: "Lol easy advice to give when you're a millionaire".

And @crazydogdadlee wrote: "This really connects with the folks who aren't multi-millionaires and don't have the means, be it property or just plain ol' money, to do this.

"Appreciate the well intended message and I admire [Ronda Rousey] so much, but this is borderline tone deaf."

In response to the backlash, Rousey once again took to social media to say that her message was "supposed to be humorous", and say that even "broke" people "living in an apartment" can start small when it comes to self-sufficiency.

She accompanied this with a series of videos explaining the "misconception" that you needed to have "a lot of money" in order to follow her advice:

The former champion wrote alongside the videos:

"I noticed from feedback on my post yesterday (that was supposed to be humorous but many people have no sense of humor) promoting living sustainably and self sufficiently that there is a misconception that it takes a lot of money to get started - but it’s quite the opposite!!

"Even if you’re broke living in an apartment it’s possible to start small and let the savings add up to expand your methods of self sufficiency! One of the easiest ways to start is planting your grocery scraps! Follow @browsey_acres for more tips on how to reduce your expenses and make progress with us towards living 100% sustainably!"

What do you think of Rousey's videos? Does she have a point and we can all "start small" or is she a little out of touch with the real world? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section...
