Rose McGowan has slammed Oprah Winfrey in her latest celebrity takedown, branding the media mogul "as fake as they come".
On Sunday, August 29, 47-year-old McGowan took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the 67-year-old billionaire.
The Charmed star took aim at Winfrey's supposed friendships with convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein and Def Jam Recordings co-founder Russell Simmons, who has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women.
In a message to her 987,000 followers, McGowan wrote: "I am glad more are seeing the ugly truth of @Oprah. I wish she were real, but she isn’t."
She added: "From being pals with Weinstein to abandoning & destroying Russell Simmon’s victims, she is about supporting a sick power structure for personal gain, she is as fake as they come. #lizard."
In the tweet, McGowan appeared to hint at the fact that the talk show host pulled out of a documentary about the sexual assault allegations facing Simmons.
Winfrey decided against executive producing the project, but did assure the public via a statement to The Hollywood Reporter that she does "unequivocally believe and support the women" but that "the filmmakers and I are not aligned in [our] creative vision."
Also included in the tweet was a photo of Winfrey kissing Weinstein on the cheek - a picture that was taken at the 2014 Critics' Choice Movie Awards, E! Online reports.
The actress was one of the most vocal accusers in the #MeToo movement, which saw her allege that Weinstein, 69, assaulted her in 1997, during the Sundance Film Festival, according to People.
Per BBC News, the disgraced film producer was sentenced to 23 years in jail in March last year after he was convicted of a first-degree criminal sexual act against production assistant Miriam Haley in 2006.
He was also found guilty of committing the third-degree rape of aspiring actress Jessica Mann in 2013. Weinstein continues to deny committing any form of sexual misconduct and appealed against his convictions earlier this year.
McGowan's tweet came as a past interview Winfrey did with country singer Dolly Parton went viral over the weekend, prompting social media users to highlight the TV personality's supposedly inappropriate questions about her plastic surgery.
