Sarah Michelle Gellar took a walk down memory lane yesterday, and donned one of the most iconic sartorial looks from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
The actress took to Instagram to share a snap of herself in the white gown that her character wore during the first season's final episode, Prophecy Girl, which aired back in 1997.
"All dressed up and no where to go. ‘I say we party," she captioned the photo, adding the hashtags "#safeathome" and "#prophecygirl."

Fans of the 90's cult classic will remember the dress as the one that Gellar's character wore when she met her maker for the first time, after confronting the season's key villain, The Master.
In the same episode, Buffy uttered the iconic line, "I may be dead but I’m still pretty" - which ought to jog your memory.

Gellar, who married fellow 90's heartthrob Freddie Prinze Jr. back in 2002, took the comments to confirm that it was indeed the same gown she wore over two decades ago in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, replying "you know it" when a follower asked, "Omg is that THE dress?!?"

However, she implied that this was probably the only outfit she has from the hit television series, telling another fan who requested a weekly Buffy inspired fashion show that the gown "might be all I have".
Last year, Gellar said that she's done with Buffy after playing the titular character for seven seasons, even as a reboot was reportedly in development, per Deadline.
"My story with Buffy about representing horrors of adolescence has been told,” she said. “If there’s another story to tell, I think that’s awesome and will only eventually trace back to the original and people will probably realise that it’s not as good."
“If there’s more story to tell, then tell it,” she continued. “But it just won’t be told with me.”
