Eliza Coupe, best known for her work in Scrubs, has hit back after some pictures of her looking "unrecognizable" went viral.

The Scrubs and Happy Endings star made headlines last week after stepping out for the premiere of her new Netflix series The Residence — but it wasn’t just her new role that got people talking.

Photos of the 43-year-old actress quickly went viral, with fans calling her red carpet look “unrecognizable” compared to her days as Dr. Denise Mahoney in the final seasons of Scrubs, which wrapped in 2010.

Now, Coupe has responded to the chatter with a bold Instagram post showing fans what she says she “really looks like.”

The actress shared a series of casual snaps from her camera roll, claiming they were taken over the “past three weeks” — and made it clear she’s unbothered by the headlines.

Coupe also threw in a handful of pointed hashtags: “#truth, #rememberwhoyouare, #elevate, #rise.”

According to Daily Mail, the actress reportedly claimed the original red carpet photos had been “wildly altered.”

But there’s more to Coupe’s transformation than just camera angles and lighting.

In a candid interview on The Funny Thing Is podcast in February, the actress opened up about her unconventional post-divorce healing journey — one that involved a psychedelic twist.

Following her 2018 split from wellness expert Darin Olien, Coupe turned to ayahuasca, a plant-based hallucinogen often used in spiritual healing ceremonies, to help clear “toxic energy”.

“I started sobbing, and it was nuts,” she said of the experience. “And then I got to see all the inner workings of myself.”

She added: “I look back at it now and am so grateful I did it, but it doesn’t call for me to do it again.”

Coupe has embraced an alternative lifestyle in more ways than one. In January, she revealed on social media that she and her new husband, professional skater Billy Marks, had relocated to Joshua Tree, swapping city life for desert vibes.

Known for her comedic chops and fast-talking characters — including the ultra-competitive Jane Kerkovich-Williams on Happy Endings — Coupe is now returning to the small screen in a very different role.

In The Residence, a mystery drama set inside the White House staff quarters, she stars as Senator Margery Bay Bix.

The series also features Uzo Aduba (Orange Is the New Black), Barrett Foa, Edwina Findley, and Julieth Restrepo.
