Last night's AMAs had plenty of talking points (we're looking at you Taylor), but one person who is sadly being heavily criticized on social media for her performance is Selena Gomez.
The 27-year-old kicked off the show by performing two new tracks, taken from her upcoming album.
Selena previously delighted her 162 million Instagram followers, when she revealed that she has got a huge tattoo on her upper thigh. She captioned the image: "AMAs day.. more to come.."
But on Twitter, some people were seemingly determined to find fault with the singer, and dragged her performance at the AMAs.
You can see a clip from the performance in question below. Do you think Selena's off-key?Many people took to Twitter to comment on Gomez's performance, and regrettably some opted to criticise the singer, though other fans stood up for the megastar.
Check out the trailer for Gomez's new album - I personally think it sounds great:The harsh criticism comes nearly two weeks after Gomez opened up to Raquelle Stevens on her podcast, Giving Back Generation, about dealing with judgment online about her body. She said:
"I experienced [body shaming] with my weight fluctuation for the first time. I have lupus and deal with kidney issues and high blood pressure, so I deal with a lot of health issues, and for me, that’s when I really started noticing more of the body-image stuff."
She added how people commenting on her body "got to [her] big-time" and "really messed [her] up for a bit."
But two people who were fully behind Selena during her performance were Taylor Swift and Halsey. The pair sang along to her songs from the audience and cheered wildly as Gomez did her thing on stage.
