Serena Williams, known not only for her prowess on the court but also for her philanthropic spirit, has extended her support to families in need this Christmas by making a heartwarming donation of breast milk.

The 42-year-old tennis superstar shared her act of kindness on Instagram, where she revealed her donation to her 17 million followers.

Williams posted an Instagram video in which she can be seen standing in front of an open freezer. Inside the freezer were numerous packets of breast milk.

In the caption, she explained: "After going through a screening I was able to donate it instead of taking the milk home. I know so many amazing women that adopt or are unable to make milk. It felt amazing. BTW Someone out there is getting some super soldier milk." Check out her video below:

Williams' voice can be heard off-camera as she expresses her excitement about the donation. She mentioned that the milk would be given anonymously to those who truly need it, emphasizing her eagerness to assist in any way possible.

The heartwarming gesture sparked a range of responses on social media. One Instagram user humorously commented: "Some kids backhand just got stronger."

Others shared their personal stories of how donated breast milk had been a lifeline for their families. One user, whose baby was adopted and had severe dairy allergies, expressed deep gratitude for the gift of donor milk.

"My baby is adopted and ended up having severe dairy allergies, so we relied on donor milk. It was such a gift to us and I’m always so grateful when I think about it," they commented.

Another added: "As a NICU mom of twins who needed donor milk while waiting for mine to come in, thank you for donating."

"Thank you. For us mamas that have to deliver early by c-section, milk can take a while to come in. Donor milk was such a blessing for us," shared another mom.

Serena Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, welcomed their second daughter, Adira River Ohanian, in August. Their first child, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., was born in 2017.

In her September 2022 Vogue cover essay, she explained her decision to step away from the sport. Williams shared that her eldest daughter, Olympia, had expressed her desire to be a "big sister" when she grew up, which played a significant role in her decision to prioritize her family over her tennis career.
