Seth Rogen sparked an important discussion online after he appeared to call out the lack of safety precautions at last night's Emmy Awards.

The ceremony appeared no different than those held in pre-Covid times, with the room packed with famous faces sans face masks.

And so, the Knocked Up star, who presented the first award at the event, couldn't help but roast the organizers for not following their own precautions.

Check out Seth Rogen's speech below:

He said: "Let me start by saying, there’s way too many of us in this little room. What are we doing? They said this was outdoors. It's not. They lied to us. We're in a hermetically sealed tent right now.

"I would not have come to this. Why is there a roof? It’s more important that we have three chandeliers than that we make sure we don’t kill Eugene Levy tonight. That is what has been decided."

He added: "This is insane. I went from wiping my groceries to Paul Bettany sneezing in my face. So, that’s a big week! If anyone’s gonna sneeze in my face, Paul, I want it to be you."

Needless to say, plenty of people took to social media to share their thoughts on Rogen's comments:

The supposed failure to adequately follow Covid-19 guidelines comes after organizers for the award show announced in August that the Emmys would be taking place outside due to the rise in Covid-19 cases.

Their statement on the matter read: "The Television Academy and CBS have decided to host all ceremonies, including the Creative Arts, on The Event Deck at L.A. LIVE, directly behind the Microsoft Theater.

"This will provide an opportunity to utilize an 'indoor/outdoor' setting and more socially distanced audience seating.

"The health and safety of our nominees is of paramount importance. Conversations are ongoing and we will be in touch with further information. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 Delta Variant."

It continued: "Although invitations have just been mailed out, nominated teams of three or more will now be limited to no more than four tickets per nomination. Unfortunately, this means not all nominees will be able to attend this year's awards."
