Simon Cowell's recent appearance has left viewers concerned as the star looked unrecognizable.
The 64-year-old music mogul made a guest appearance on the UK television series Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.
Appearing alongside hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, Cowell helped kick off the new season of the show by making a grand entrance in a model plane and was even subjected to pranks from the duo while on working in Malibu.
However, despite delivering plenty of laughs, many of Cowell's fans were left stunned - with some even taking to social media to voice their concerns.
One X user tweeted: "I was shocked to see Simon Cowell on TV last night. What on Earth has he done to his face?"
While many viewers criticized Cowell of overdoing it with cosmetic treatments, one concerned fan stressed that people should not make assumptions, explaining that Cowell may have suffered a "serious medical event". Another said that Cowell appeared very "uncomfortable" during his appearance on the popular show.
His appearance even led to a savage joke from fellow guest Stephen Merchant, who said: "I didn't like it... I loved it. That was my impression of Simon, it wasn't very convincing because my face moved."
Cowell's journey with cosmetic enhancements has been well-documented, with the America's Got Talent judge openly discussing his facelift in 2018 and subsequent use of Botox.
However, in April 2022, Cowell revealed that he had decided to forego further Botox treatments after realizing he had gone too far.
"There was a stage where I might have gone a bit too far. I saw a picture of me from ‘before’ the other day, and didn’t recognize it as me first of all,” he said in an interview with The Sun, before admitting that his son, Eric, had been left "in hysterics" over his appearance.
Despite this, he admitted to Page Six that he hadn't completely given up on cosmetic enhancements, stating: “I reduced it, let’s put it that way. Everything in moderation.”
Cowell's appearance on Saturday Night Takeaway comes after a challenging period in 2020 when he suffered a serious back injury after falling off an E-bike. Reflecting on the incident, Cowell confessed to Page Six that he was “officially nuts” for continuing to ride without a helmet.
