A teenage dancer who captured the hearts of social media users has sadly passed away at the age of 14 following her battle with cancer.
Teenager Lily Douglas had amassed over 100,000 followers on Instagram, as people fell in love with the teen and her positive attitude.
A beautifully talent dancer, Lily had not only captured the hearts of celebrities like Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips and Scottish chart-topper Lewis Capaldi, but she was also the recipient of a Pride of Scotland award and was crowned a Teenager of Courage.
Per Daily Record, in 2017 the teen was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer that affects bones or the tissue around bones.
Lily was given the all-clear back in 2018, but the cancer tragically returned to her lungs. In an Instagram post back in December, she revealed that she had started a new trial in an effort to treat her cancer. Reports add that she then arrived at Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary on January 14 to take part in a drug trial.

Yesterday, on January 23, Lily's mom Jane shared the heartbreaking announcement on Instagram that her daughter had passed away. She wrote: "My beautiful baby girl danced her way to heaven at 7.17 tonight her heart failed but she was on the sofa at home cuddled [into] me where she wanted [to] be."
Jane's message continued: "She will leave a massive hole in my [heart] if love could have saved her she would have lived to a million years old, she is at peace and is finally in no more pain.
The doting mom added: "Thank you all for your love and support I could not have done this without you all."
Following the news of Lily's passing, Dame Arlene Phillips - a long-time supporter of Lily - has taken to Instagram to pay her respects to the beloved teen.
"No words can express the way I feel tonight only love and loss that @lilydouglas_official passed away in the arms of her beautiful mummy Jane," Phillips wrote. "My heart goes out to Jane and lily’s brother Leon and to her family and all those that loved her.
"I was lucky to be one of those that knew her and I treasure the times I spent with her and will hold her beautiful smile in my heart. Bless you darling Lily. You will be so missed."
