Will Smith has been in the news a lot recently... in case you hadn't noticed.

Yes, as a result of his altercation with Chris Rock at Sunday night's Academy Awards, the Men in Black star has been hitting headlines all over the world.  But just in case you're just getting back from a vacation to the Moon, I'll quickly catch you up.

During the 94th annual Oscars ceremony, guest presenter Chris Rock made a joke about Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

"Jada, I love ya! G.I. Jane 2 - can't wait to see it," the 57-year-old comedian said, a comment on Jada's shaved head resembling Demi Moore's buzzcut in the 1997 movie, G.I. Jane. However, Pinkett Smith - who suffers from alopecia - looked visibly unimpressed and rolled her eyes.

Seconds later, husband Will took to the stage, approached Rock, and slapped him across the face. When he returned to his seat, the Hancock star shouted: "Keep my wife's name out of your f****** mouth!"

What with all the news surrounding the Smith family, it is only natural that more and more people have been googling the couple, as well as their kids, Jaden and Willow - who have spent years building their own careers and becoming celebs in their own right.

But although some of us may have realized long ago the meaning behind their names, some Twitter users are only just cottoning on to the fact that Jaden and Willow and named after their parents, Jada and Will.

Sharing a shocked gif, one Twitter user wrote: "Me just now realizing JADEN and WILLOW are actually variations of their parents’ names JADA and WILL."

A second added: "I just realized that Jaden and Willow are named after Jada and Will. #ImSlowSometimes (I just never put any thought into their names.)"

A third wrote: "Someone tell me why it took me all this time to realize that Jaden is [named] after Jada and Willow is named after Will! I have issues."

And it certainly did not end there, as this revelation was one that A LOT of people were experiencing this week:

And to make matters even crazier, some people are also just learning that Will's name is not short for "William" - his full name is actually Willard Carroll Smith II.

Not only that, but Will actually has another son, called Willard Smith III - who is more commonly known by the name Trey Smith. His mom is Will Smith's ex-wife, actor-turned-reality TV star Sheree Zampino.

The more you know...
