Drea de Matteo has opened up about her OnlyFans career, including how her teenage son apparently edits her photos.
The actress rose to fame in the Sopranos for her portrayal of Adriana La Cerva, the fiery girlfriend of Christopher Moltisanti.
She quickly became a fan-favorite and won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2004.
De Matteo, now 52, had a fruitful career following the end of the show, but things took a turn in 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic struck.
After refusing to adhere to Covid-19 vaccine mandates and being dropped by her agent, she decided to join OnlyFans and make a living from it.
She opted to join the adult site in 2023 and soon answered questions about how her son felt about it.
"I know some people have said some nasty things about me having joined OnlyFans," she told Fox News Digital.
"But, you know, the way we see it in this house is mommy’s a warrior, not accepting defeat."
She continued: "I figured, 'OK, so everybody's in their underwear and being sexy on Instagram and I don't do that, but I can do that and get paid for it.' ...I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner."
Now, the actress has revealed on the Not Today, Pal podcast that her 13-year-old son Waylon 'Blackjack' edits her photos.
Talking to hosts Robert Iler and Jamie-Lynn Sigler, the conversation turned to the actress' OF content - which led to her saying: "Blackjack and Alabama — my kids are out there — I’m sorry, guys. I’m really sorry. But they know."
Host Robert Iler then said that Blackjack had said before recording that he "edits [her] OnlyFans photos", per News.com.au.
“Oh yeah,” Matteo admitted. “He’s like, ‘So what do you want me to do with the bikini line here?’”
However, the Sopranos star clarified that her kids do not see the more explicit shots of her with other women and ensured they were comfortable with her career choice before proceeding.
“They don’t see the girl shots. But I do go over that with them before I ever put them out,” she said. “I was like, ‘Are you OK with this?’”
De Matteo explained that she doesn’t view her OnlyFans content as significantly different from some of her past movie roles.
“Because it’s like, if I were to do it in a movie, because I would make out with girls in movies all day long before I’d even make out with boys,” she said.
The Sons of Anarchy star noted that her children, whom she shares with ex Shooter Jennings, encouraged her to join.
“My kids were the ones that were like, ‘Do it,’” De Matteo explained to Fox News Digital. “She’ll [Alabama] edit the pictures, too, because they want certain things that we haven’t been able to do.”
“I used to have a lot of money. And then, all of a sudden, I went from being allowed to work to never being allowed to work again,” she continued.
“I was never the kind of actor that took jobs just to stay in the business. I literally took jobs to feed my family.”
Since starting her OnlyFans account, De Matteo has earned enough to provide for her family, even paying off her mortgage debt in February 2024.
