Spider-Man star Jacob Batalon has taken to social media to showcase his incredible weight loss with fans.
The 24-year-old Hawaiian actor - who is best known for playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man's best friend, Ned Leeds, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - has taken to Instagram look totally unrecognizable.

Donning a beanie hat, gold chains, and opting to leave his jacket open, Batalon oozed confident as she posed for the mirror selfie.
And Batalon's 1.3 million followers clearly adored the post, as it has currently amassed over 409,000 likes, and more than 6.7K comments from impressed fans.
However, throughout the birthday well-wishes and people praising Batalon for his remarkable weight-loss, there were others who were questioning if the decision for the transformation had more... villainous motives:

Sharing a picture of himself wearing a green jacket, one Instagram user commented saying: "Green might be your color" - to which Batalon personally replied writing "niceeeeee" alongside some curious looking emojis.

Of course, for those of you who aren't massive nerds like myself, the "green" refers to the goblin green sported by Spider-Man nemesis, Hobgoblin - the alter-ego of Spider-Man character Ned Leeds.
Yes, in case you're unaware of Ned's character arc in the Spider-Man comics, he is the third person to adopt the Hobgoblin mantle - after fellow characters Roderick Kingsley and Lefty Donovan.
In the comics, he is kidnapped by the real Hobgoblin and later brainwashed by scientist Gerhard Winkler into committing crimes and believing that he is the real Hobgoblin.
So, will we be seeing Batalon adopting the supervillain monicker opposite Tom Holland in the third installment of the superhero franchise?
