Tom Holland, aka Spider-Man himself, has personally called the six-year-old boy who bravely put his life on the line to save his little sister from a dog attack.

Bridger's story went viral on social media earlier this week when his aunt, Nicole Walker, recounted his bravery on Instagram.

Nicole revealed how Bridger jumped in between his little sister and an angry "German Shepherd mix" after it had started attacking her. The dog has since been put to sleep.

Following the attack, the younger was taken to hospital where he received around 90 stitches to help repair his face wounds.

Nicole wrote: "My nephew is a hero who saved his little sister from an attacking dog.

"He, himself, took on the attack so that the dog wouldn't get his sister. He later said, 'If someone was going to die, I thought it should be me.'"

Sharing Bridger's heroic actions on social media, she tagged many of the MCU's Avengers stars, asking if they wouldn't mind giving the young hero-in-training a shoutout.

"I know it's a long shot, but I'm reaching out to the Avengers and other heroes so that they can learn about this latest addition to their ranks," Nicole wrote.

Now, Nicole has shared a video of Bridger receiving a phone call from Holland, 24, who praised the child's brace actions and even invited him to the set of the latest Spider-Man movie.

Nicole captioned the heartwarming video: "A Conversation with Spider-Man. When dreams come true."

The call took place on Thursday (July 16), and Holland can be heard telling Bridger: "You are so brave, mate, and we are all so proud of you and your little sister is so lucky to have you."

Holland then asks Bridger - who is wearing his best Spider-Man costume - what movie he was watching, to which the youngster replies: "Spider-Man: Homecoming."

This causes Holland to joke: "You’re even more of a hero now!"

Holland then invites Bridger to visit the set of the third installment of this Spider-Man series, telling the six-year-old: "You’ll always be my guest."

And before you stop cutting those onions, Holland isn't the only Avenger to have reached out to Bridger.

Chris Evans - aka Steve Rogers/Captain America - also sent a heartwarming video message to the young boy.

Check out Evans' video below, along with Bridger's response:

In the video, the 39-year-old actor says: "This is a message for Bridger. Hey Bridger, Captain America here, how you doing buddy? So, I read your story and saw what you did. I’m sure you’ve heard a lot of this over the last couple of days, but pal, you’re a hero.

"What you did was so brave and so selfless, your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother. Your parents must be so proud of you. I’m going to track down your address and send you an authentic Captain America shield because, pal, you deserve it."

The Avengers star added: "Keep being the man you are, we need people like you. Hang in there, I know recovery might be tough, but based on what I’ve seen, I don’t think there is much that can slow you down. Bye buddy."

Bridger - who was adorably dressed in his Captain America costume - seemed to be left speechless by Evans response, while his younger sister said she thought the video was "awesome".

And while she is not an Avenger, Anne Hathaway was also so touched by Bridger's actions - and decided to pull some strings.

"I'm not an Avenger, but I know a superhero when I see one," the actress captioned a collage of pictures of him.

"I can only hope I'm half as brave in my life as you are in yours, Bridger. Wishing you an easeful recovery, and many cool looking rocks.

"Hey @markruffalo, do you need a teammate??"

It wasn't long before Ruffalo - aka, The Incredible Hulk - caught sight of Hathaway's post and gave the youngster another superhero shoutout that he deserves.

Commenting on Nicole's original post, he wrote: "Dear Bridger, I just read about what happened to you and I wanted to reach out to say this… People who put the well beings of others in front of themselves are the most heroic and thoughtful people I know.

"I truly respect and admire your courage and your heart. Real courage isn't dominating people or fighting against people or walking around like a tough guy. Real courage is knowing what is right to do and doing it even when it might end up hurting you somehow."

"You are more of man than many, many I have seen or known. With Admiration… Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk/Professor)."

And Evans and Ruffalo's sentiments have been echoed by many other famous faces in the comments section.

Another superhero, The Flash star Robbie Amell added: "A real hero. Get better soon Bridger".
