Last month, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 43, revealed she had been battling “severe and debilitating headaches” for weeks. The pain became so intense that it “required hospitalization".
After being admitted to the hospital on February 11, Mellencamp underwent a CT scan and MRI, which revealed multiple tumors on her brain - tumors doctors believe had been growing for at least six months.
On February 12, surgeons removed four of the tumors, with plans to address the remaining smaller ones through radiation at a later date, she revealed at the time.
Nearly two weeks later, on Wednesday, February 26, Mellencamp provided her first post-surgery update, expressing gratitude for the medical team's help during the difficult process.
“I am so grateful for the incredible surgeons, doctor, and nurses who made my surgery a success and my recovery process comfortable,” she shared. “This fight is not over, but that round has been won."
Now, the reality TV star has taken to her social media platform once again to share that doctors have discovered more tumors in her body - just weeks after removing four from her brain.
“I have multiple tumors in my brain that weren’t able to be removed via surgery. I also have 2 tumors in my lung. These are all metastases of my melanoma,” she posted on Thursday (March 6).
Despite the grim development, the reality star remains "positive" about her prognosis and reassured her followers that her medical team "are hopeful that immunotherapy will effectively treat them".
"I am feeling positive - that I will win this battle, that I got this wig (I like the short hair, just not the bald spots), and that I can remember all of Angelina’s kids’ names,” she quipped alongside a picture of her newly styled blonde hair.

In addition to updating fans about her health, the Two T’s In A Pod host also addressed when she might return to her popular podcast. While she isn’t entirely sure, she hinted that it could happen as early as next week - though she’s deferring to medical advice.
“I don’t actually know. I would assume next week, but I’m listening to what the doctors and my bosses think is best for my brain,” she said, per Page Six. “I think when you have four brain tumors and then you have to go through these different things, you have to protect yourself."
Still, she expressed how much she misses podcasting with her co-host Tamra Judge. “I miss the pod. I miss chatting with [Tamra Judge]. I miss Erika [Jayne]. I miss laughing. I miss watching all those ridiculous shows," she added.
Though she is uncertain about the exact timing of her return, Mellencamp assured her fans: “I will be back."

Since first announcing her melanoma diagnosis and undergoing surgery last month, Mellencamp has received an outpouring of love and encouragement from friends.
Her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, has also shown his unwavering support. Following her surgery, both he and Mellencamp expressed gratitude for the overwhelming kindness from fans.
“Our family is thankful to everybody for your continued prayers and well wishes,” Arroyave shared, tagging Mellencamp in his post. He added a heartfelt message in the caption: “Thank you.”
