In a raw and emotional video shared to social media, Jack - who has also appeared in shows such as The Favourite, Call the Midwife, and The End of the F***ing World - revealed his dire living situation and made a public plea for help.
“Hi. I’m a famous actor, I’m 17, and I’m homeless,” Jack began in a TikTok video, detailing the struggles he has been facing.
The actor shared that he suffers from autism, ADHD, and is undergoing screenings for bipolar disorder and psychosis, adding: “I can’t stay at my grandparents’. I have nowhere else to go, and I need help.”
Jack explained that he has been living in a trailer with broken windows, surviving without electricity, and relying on basic snacks to get by. The space is two hours from his work as a personal trainer, making it challenging to maintain his job. “Life is hard. At the moment, I have nothing else,” he said, describing nights spent in the streets and the cold.
Social services, Jack claimed, initially refused to intervene. In his plea, he begged viewers to spread the word: “You don’t have to pay me anything, I don’t need anything. I just need you to make this go as viral as possible.”
The internet responded swiftly, with messages of support flooding in. “I couldn’t even imagine being homeless at 17. Seeing you like this is truly breaking my heart. I love your character in Loki btw. I wish you all the best. Be strong,” one fan wrote.
"I’m really sorry, no one should have to go through this especially at your age. I hope the best for you man, keep us updated on how things are going," another wrote.
A day later, Jack returned with an emotional update. He shared through tears that social services had contacted him to schedule a meeting about possible foster care and accommodations. “I don’t know what you guys have done, but it’s gotten out there, and it’s really, really helped me,” Jack said, visibly overwhelmed. “They’re actually doing something.”
While he emphasized that no solutions were guaranteed, this marked the first time he had been considered for formal support. Jack thanked his followers for amplifying his message, saying: “God bless you all.”
Jack’s last on-screen appearance was in the 2022 Amazon Prime Video series The Peripheral alongside Chloë Grace Moretz. His story serves as a stark reminder that even those who have tasted fame can face extraordinary challenges.
Hopefully Jack’s message continues to resonate, and sharing his story could make all the difference.
