Tom Hanks may have successfully wooed Meg Ryan in the 90s rom-com You've Got Mail, but it seems as if his son forgot to take notes on how to impress a woman.
Over the weekend, Adele blew up Instagram when she shared a pic showcasing her impressive seven stone weight loss while wearing a Jamaican flag print bikini.
With her hair styled in Bantu knots - a traditional African hairstyle - the 32-year-old captioned the picture: "Happy what would be Notting Hill Carnival my beloved London."

The post was widely circulated across social media, amassing over 5.2 million likes and sparking a conversation surrounding cultural appropriation.
However, one person who clearly doesn't give two hoots about the arguments surrounding identity and disadvantaged minority cultures is Tom Hank's son, Chet.
Watch Chet attempt to "chat up" Adele in the video below (Warning - Some of you will find this cringing):

Sharing a video of himself sitting in his car and rocking out to Adele's hit 'Set Fire To The Rain', Chet then puts on a Patois accent (an English-based creole language with some West African influences sometimes used by Jamaican people) and compliment's the singer.
After praising Adele's hairstyle in the snap, Chet ends the video by saying: "Big up yourself! And uh, hit me in my DMs."
Chet playfully captioned the proposal: "PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ADELE HIT MY LINE ASAP! I NEED TO TALK TO HER ABOUT SOMETHING."
He ended the post with a string of Jamaican flag emojis - a reference to her choice of bikini worn to celebrate the Nottinghill Carnival.
This comes after Adele was ridiculed by many social media users for appropriating black culture in her now-viral post.
One Twitter user wrote: "Adele dropped that weight and said it's time for her cultural appropriation era."

"Dear white people, please just be yourselves and stop it for good with cultural appropriation. Adele the bantu knots were unnecessary. The Jamaican flag bikini top was unnecessary... Please just stop it," another wrote.

Ernest Owens added: "If 2020 couldn't get any more bizarre, Adele is giving us Bantu knots and cultural appropriation that nobody asked for. This officially marks all of the top white women in pop as problematic. Hate to see it."

Now, Adele has responded to the backlash by poking fun at it in the comments section of an Instagram live video featuring duo Brandy and Monica. In the comment, Adele typed in Patois - the main language used on the Caribbean island.
She wrote: "Wah Gwaan! Yow gyal, yuh look good enuh" (which essentially translates to: "What's up? You look good girl").
The singer's response comes after a number of celebrities also defended her against the accusations including British-Jamaican, David Lammy.

Taking to Twitter, he shared an article about the accusations and wrote: "Poppycock! This humbug totally misses the spirit of Notting Hill Carnival and the tradition of “'dress up' or “'masquerade' Adele was born and raised in Tottenham she gets it more than most. Thank you Adele. Forget the Haters."
