Fans have been taking to social media to share their concern for Tom Hanks as the actor appeared unable to control his shaking hand at a recent press event.
The 65-year-old actor has been busy promoting his latest Baz Luhrmann flick, Elvis, which is slated for release in theaters later this month.
But while the Forrest Gump star was on stage at the film's Australian premiere on the Gold Coast, he seemed to have difficulty bringing his shaking hand under control, MailOnline reported.
Speaking at the event on June 4, Hanks told the audience: "There is no better place in the world to make a motion picture than right here on the Gold Coast. I've shot films in Morocco and Los Angeles and New York City and Seattle and in Berlin.
"None of them have what the Gold Coast have, and what is that? Two words. None of those other cities have Dan Murphy."
While his hand was shaking, Hanks made an attempt to control it by putting his left hand at the bottom of his mic under his right hand. He also tried to switch hands.
Fans have since taken to Facebook to voice their concern for the actor.
One commenter wrote: "He looks so frail. I wonder if it’s related to Covid he had. I hope he doesn’t have Long Haul symptoms."
A fan of the actor shared their well-wishes, writing: "Get well my favourite actor so much talent bless you."
Others shared their own theories as to why his hand was shaking, with one suggesting the cause could be arthritis.
They said: "It’s probably just arthritis in his thumb. At one time or another it will happen to everyone. Just keep on living you’ll find out."
Another suggested the actor was shaking because he's diabetic, writing: "He's a diabetic so that may possibly be the reason. I am too and when my blood sugars begin dropping my hands shake also. It can happen fast."
A different commenter agreed, saying: "He has disclosed that he has diabetes. His blood sugars may have been out of whack."
Another joked in reference to Hank's 2000 movie Cast Away: "He's still grieving over Wilson."
