British actor Tom Hardy will return to read another six bedtime stories for the BBC in the midst of the coronavirus lockdown, it has been revealed.
Hardy first began reading bedtime stories for kids back in 2016. Now, according to a press release by the BBC's Media Centre, Hardy's storytime will begin on Monday, April 27, with him appearing each day of the week until Friday, May 1,
Take a look at this clip of Tom Hardy reading a story in the video below:The first story Hardy will read will be Hug Me by Simone Ciraolo, which tells the tale of a cactus named Felipe, who really wants a hug but who can't have one due to his family's prickles. So Felipe goes on a journey to find a new friend and get a hug for himself.
Other stories featured on the program include Under The Same Sky by Robert Vescio and Nicky Johnston, There’s A Tiger In The Garden by Lizzy Stewart, Don’t Worry, Little Crab by Chris Haughton and The Problem With Problems by Rachel Rooney and Zehra Hicks.
Commenting on the initiative, Head of Content at BBC Children Cheryl Taylor stated: "It goes without saying how thrilled we are to have Tom reading more stories for us."
She continued: "It’s during challenging times like this that the BBC serves its purpose to entertain the whole of the UK, and these new stories are guaranteed to do just that with their themes of long-distance friendship, sharing problems and true courage in overcoming seemingly impossible challenges."
Hardy has also shared a behind-the-scenes picture of the filming on his Instagram, taking place in the garden of his south London home, making it clear the crew is behaving responsibly by sticking to social distancing measures.
