Tony Danza has allegedly issued an apology after being called out for his behavior during a red carpet interview earlier this week.
The 72-year-old Taxi star was slammed by entertainment reporter Rye Myers earlier this week after the pair shared an uncomfortable interaction during the opening night of New York, New York on Wednesday night.
Myers later took to TikTok to share footage from the interview, branding Danza the "rudest" celebrity he's ever interviewed.
The video begins with Danza talking with producer Jamie deRoy before the reporter approaches him for a quick interview on the red carpet. Almost immediately, Danza tells Myers: "Relax a little...You're more excited than we are. Take it easy."
Check out the interview below:The interviewer then responds by explaining that the Broadway premiere is "exciting" to him, but Danza is clearly not impressed as he says "I know, I know, I know, I know. OK," before finally agreeing to answer some questions.
Myers explained that - due to the event before for the opening night of New York, New York - many of the questions were New York-based. However, after asking Danza to name his "favorite New York City staple food", Danza replied: "You know what you've got to do, buddy, you've got to come up with better questions."
The star then tells his friend, "Come on. Let's go," before walking away.
"I understand not everyone is in the mood to answer questions, and you can always pass," Myers later said.
Nevertheless, after amassing over 130,000 views on TikTok, many social media users took aim at Danza, with one person commenting: "That was so unkind it made me uncomfortable. I love your personality! I bet you’re so nice to hang out with!"
Another remarked: "The pat on the face like he’s some sort of goodfella. Unfortunately, Fame makes a lot [of] people way too entitled!"
Even singer Michael Bublé took a shot at Danza, commenting on the post: "I think you're amazing Ry. I'll have a pizza with ya. Let's not invite Tony..."

However, after the story was widely reported and shared across social media, Myers has revealed that the famed actor has reached out and apologized for his behavior.
In a new video shared to his TikTok page, Myers explains: "I just wanted to let you know that I did hear from Tony Danza earlier today, he called me to apologize and squash the beef."
Myers added: "It was great to hear from him and certainly much appreciated... thank you for all your support in these last 24 hours, it’s been insane."
And TikTokers were glad to hear the update, with one person commenting: "Growing up, I adored Tony, but at the end of the day, we’re all human with good and bad days. I’m so glad he apologized to you."
A second added: "He’s a nice guy having a bad night."
And a third wrote: "I'm glad he apologized. You are so amazing for the way you handled this whole situation."
