Tucker Carlson dares Piers Morgan to say slur on camera before repeatedly using it himself

Tucker Carlson repeatedly pressed Piers Morgan to say a slur during a discussion on the freedom of speech within the UK.

The pair engaged in a debate on Carlson's show on Wednesday, where the conservative political commentator questioned whether freedom of speech was too restricted in the United Kingdom.

Morgan stepped up to the plate to defend the UK's stance and was challenged by the host to see if he would say the F slur on camera.

Carlson asked: "Would you say the word ‘f****t’ on camera?”, to which Morgan responded: "No."

The host then pressed: "Why? You don’t want to get arrested, do ya?", and as Morgan began to protest, he added: "Ohhh, because it’s so harmful to people? Is it like gay-bashing? What’s wrong with that?"

Morgan then replied to say he did not feel compelled to say "derogatory stuff" about gay people just to defend his point.

Carlson then agreed but claimed the F slur had become a "magic word" that people are no longer allowed to use.

When Morgan asked Carlson whether he would use it, the host defiantly responded: "F****t? I just did. F****t, f****t, f****t. And I’m using it because you’re not allowed to."

The conversation had turned to the F slur after Carlson brought up a recent report about a 34-year-old British woman, Elizabeth Kinney, who was convicted of a "homophobic hate crime" for referring to a male "acquaintance" who she alleged attacked her as the F slur in text messages to another friend, per the Daily Mail.

According to the outlet, Kinney was sentenced to a 12 month community order, as well as 72 hours of unpaid work, 10 “rehabilitation activity days,” and made to pay a £364 fine.

The man, who she'd accused of assaulting her, was never charged, per the report, to which Carlson commented: "That story tells you everything."

Despite his rightful refusal to gratuitously use a homophobic slur for the sake of it, Morgan had earlier claimed there was a "massive rising issue with the suppression of free speech."

Both Carlson and Morgan agreed that the F slur is an "ugly" word, with Carlson revealing he has never used it to demean a gay person, and noted that he usually only hears it being used colloquially within the gay community.

He added: "The only people I ever hear use the word f****t are gay. Ever. Just like the only people who say the ‘n word’ are Black. Period."
