The woman who was allegedly stabbed by a former How I Met Your Mother star has spoken out amid the ongoing trial.

Allie Shehorn is determined not to let her alleged abuser regain control of her life following a harrowing incident that saw her stabbed at least 20 times, allegedly by Nick Pasqual.

Pasqual appeared on the popular CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother as Will in a 2011 episode but also had some minor roles on other shows such as Archives 81, High Mystery, and American Gangster: Trap Queens.

Los Angeles makeup artist Shehorn recently spoke to the Daily Mail about the nightmare attack allegedly launched on her by Pasqual at her Sunland home on May 23 which resulted in life-altering injuries.

"I just hope that there's justice served," she said, emphasizing the importance of appearing in court. "People should know that this shouldn't happen and he can't get away with it. I'll be at every court hearing, even if I don't have to be, just to show him that I'm still here."

According to the outlet, Pasqual attempted to flee to Mexico after the attack but was apprehended on the Fort Hancock International Bridge in tiny Sierra Blanca, Texas, before being extradited to California in June.

The 35-year-old is now being held at North Valley Correctional Facility in Castaic on charges including attempted murder, burglary, and domestic violence.

He is also being investigated for a previous attack on his former lover which involved an altercation that saw Shehorn's head being slammed against the floor of her home. After that, she was forced to apply for a restraining order, though Pasqual allegedly continued to harass her.

Prior to that incident, he also allegedly hit her with a belt, choked her, and raped her, all crimes that Shehorn reported to the police.

The artist ended up spending over a week in hospital and even though she's not fully recovered yet, she's still going to be present in court.

"I still don't have feeling back in my hands and partial vision loss that I can't get back," she revealed, though she hoped that she would be able to do what she loves again.

"That's my goal," she added.

When describing the shock of the alleged attack, she stated: "He has been violent in the past but never physically with me apart from two nights where he ripped clothes off of me.

"Every day is different and it's a struggle, and just dealing with the permanent damage is really hard. I can't go back completely to how I was," she added.

Shehorn is now focused on getting the justice she deserves alongside healing physically as well as emotionally, attending therapy sessions and getting support from her "good group of friends."

She also had a message for other women experiencing domestic abuse, telling the outlet: "You never expect it to happen, but you all have to notice the signs and get out while you can."

Pasqual will return to court on October 8.
