YouTuber and makeup artist Mel Thompson has tragically died at the age of 35.

The popular YouTube star's death was announced on Monday, September 27, on Instagram by her husband Puffin Thompson, however, her cause of death has not yet been revealed, People reports.

"Mel sadly passed away yesterday," he wrote alongside a series of pictures. "We lost a beautiful person."

He continued: "I've had to answer so many texts of people just checking in on her without even knowing of her passing. It's great to see how loved she was. And she loved all you right back. I'll continue to love her and miss her forever."

Mel had a large YouTube following of 169,000 subscribers, and she had made a name for herself on the video-sharing website posting makeup tutorials and reviews, The Sun reports.

Thompson's husband said that she was "such a pillar for" their family in his post announcing her death.

"The kids would talk to her nonstop and she was constantly talking with them and trying to help them with their stuff," her husband wrote.

"And no matter how bad she felt, she would still rub my back when I came and jumped on the bed next to her while she was working tirelessly to put out content."

Fans subsequently took to the comments section of the post to share their condolences.

Per The Mirror, one wrote: "Nooooooooooo. Oh my goodness. Heartbreaking. She was my favorite. I got ready every single morning with her."

A second added: "I'm shocked! So talented!! Loved to see all her content! Sending all her family lots of love."

Meanwhile, another wrote: "Oh my god, I cannot believe this! She was the kindest most genuine creator. You could see how much she loved what she was doing and how talented she was."

As well as her husband, Mel leaves behind her four children.

Mel paid tribute to her children in a mother's day post earlier this year, writing: "I grew up always saying I would never have kids. Here I am today with 4 and I wouldn't trade places with anyone."
