The late Chadwick Boseman is set to become one of the latest actors to be immortalized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Boseman, who tragically passed away in 2020 at the age of 43 after suffering from colon cancer, will be posthumously honored alongside soul legend Otis Redding.

The Black Panther star will receive his honor next year as part of a class that also includes rap icon Dr.Dre, Everything, Everywhere, All At Once actress Michelle Yeoh, Gal Gadot, Christina Ricci, Gwen Stefani, and Maggie Gyllenhall.

The beloved Boseman's most famous work was undoubtedly his role as T'Challa in Marvel superhero powerhouse Black Panther.

His career spanned two decades, earning him two Screen Actor's Guild awards, a Golden Globe and an Emmy. He was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor following his performance as Levee Green in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom in 2021.

In a statement by the The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Walk of Fame Selection Panel and radio personality Elle K stated: "The Selection Committee, which is made up of fellow Walk of Famers, carefully hand-picks a group of honorees each year that represent various genres of the entertainment world.

"The Committee did an amazing job choosing these very talented people. We can't wait to see each honoree's reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood's history with the unveiling of their star on the world's most famous walkway!"

Boseman's 2018 turn as T'Challa launched him into the stratosphere, with Black Panther becoming one of the most popular and important Marvel films of all time, with many critics praising its cultural significance, being the first Marvel movie to be helmed by a Black director and feature a predominantly Black cast.

The late actor would go onto star in Spike Lee's Da 5 Bloods and the aforementioned Ma Rainey's Black Bottom before his untimely passing.

Boseman and Redding are not alone with their posthumous honor, though, as 2Pac also received his own Hollywood star recently, with the West Coast icon's sister Sekyiwa Shakur accepting the achievement on her brother's behalf and saying in a statement, via Complex, "From the first time he stepped foot on the stage of the Apollo Theater at 13 years old, before anyone recognized his name, he knew he had the dream to have a star here on the Walk of Fame."
