Charli D'Amelio, who is known for being the most followed person on TikTok, has consistently seen her fanbase increase exponentially - until this week, that is.
After a controversial video was shared to The D'Amelio Family YouTube channel featuring Charli, her family, and fellow influencer James Charles, the 16-year-old is now rapidly losing followers on her TikTok page.
The whole fiasco began on Monday (November 16), when Charli and her family posted a "Dinner With The D'Amelios" video, in which beauty YouTuber James Charles made an appearance as a surprise guest.
Check out the "unacceptable" video below:

While the video was set up to be a wholesome family dinner, people were far from delighted by what they watched.
In fact, it sparked backlash from thousands of commenters who called Charli and older sister Dixie's behavior "disgusting" and "unacceptable".
In fact, one commenter wrote: "This is so embarrassing the fact that the parents didn't address their behavior not once is unacceptable."
Another agreed writing: "Everyone [is] talking about Charli and Dixie. Let's talk about hoe their parents didn't even address their disgusting behavior."
A third person took to the comments to write: "The D'Amelios are straight-up brats. They don't deserve ANY of the fame they get."
A different user stated: "This is not 'quirky' or 'cute'. Straight up embarrassing."
But what exactly did the teen TikToker and her family do to garner such a reaction?
Well, they appear to be referring to comments made by Charli and her sister about the food to their chef. At one point, Dixie even appears to throw up at the table after trying a snail.
Viewers also weren't too happy about Charli talking about how she hadn't yet reached 100 million followers on TikTok after less than a year of making dance videos on the app.
"Ugh, I wish I had more time," Charli said. "'Because imagine if I hit 100m a year after hitting a mill [sic]."
This prompts James to quip: "Was the 95 [million] not enough for you?"
And now, ironically, the young influencer has reportedly lost 500,000 of her followers on TikTok.
Per BuzzFeed, earlier this week, she had 99.4 million followers, after gaining more than 700,000 followers in the days prior.

But now, at the time of writing, Charlie has 98.8 million followers.
Charli has not yet responded to the controversy, but her sister has addressed it in a TikTok posted yesterday, November 18.
"I would never in any way wanna be taken as disrespectful, especially from an out-of-context 15-second clip."

"Basically, that clip, that wasn't in the original video, is my team and chef Aaron May trying to convince me to try snail, knowing that I would have a reaction," Dixie continued. "I love chef, and I would never disrespect him in any way."
