Chris Hemsworth has made a name for himself as one of Hollywood's most muscly men, and now Thor is set to undergo his greatest transformation yet for his starring role in the upcoming Hulk Hogan biopic.

The Australian actor has now spoken out about "hulking up" in order to play the wrestling legend in the upcoming Netflix movie.

In an interview with Total Film, the 36-year-old Australian actor said: "As you can imagine, the preparation for the role will be insanely physical."

"I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor," he continued.

"There is the accent as well as the physicality and the attitude."

However, when Hemsworth's casting as Hogan was announced earlier this year, it did not go down well with the wrestling world, who believed that he is simply too small for the role.

Wrestling commentator Bryan Alvarez, 43, said that Hemsworth was the wrong man for the job because he's just a "regular size" and not that of the 6ft 7", 300lbs multi-time world champion.

"He’s big but […] have you seen Hulk Hogan in the ’80s? He’s at least twice the size of Thor," the commentator said.

This comes after Hemsworth opened up to Popsugar in June about the grueling process he had to go through in order to gain enough weight to play Thor and star in the upcoming Marvel movie Thor: Love and Thunder.

"I put on a lot of weight - I put on about 20 pounds at one point," he said.

"It was purely eating, eating, eating, working out and working out, trying to sleep as much as you can - that's the other third of the equation," he said.

Well, it looks like the 36-year-old has even more eating, working out, and sleeping ahead of him - as well as saying his prayers and eating his vitamins.
