Christ Hemsworth's new movie Extraction is set to achieve the "biggest film premiere on Netflix" after dropping on April 24.

Now, while we all have more time than usual on our hands to watch Netflix at the moment, it's safe to say that Extraction's success is still very much justified thanks to its great talent, mega-fight scenes, and compelling storyline.

According to Deadline, the movie is predicted to be viewed over 90 million times during the first four weeks of its release, and Hemsworth took to social media to thank people for their support.

In a video posted to Instagram on Saturday, he said: "Hey what's up guys? Hope you're doing well. I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone that checked out Extraction. You've made it the #1 film on the planet right now."

Hemsworth also took to Instagram to thank people for their support of the movie by sharing a picture of his character Tyler Rake and saying that he's been "blown away" by the response to the movie.

He wrote: "Tyler Rake is kicking ass. EXTRACTION is well on its way to becoming the biggest-ever film premier on Netflix – with an estimated 90 million households getting in on the action in the first 4 weeks. Thanks to everyone who watched so far!"

However, despite the movie being a viewing success, it has had a mixed response from critics.

One critic wrote: "It's a shame this real crowd-pleaser won't be playing to crowds, but it still works as a Friday night, pop-the-popcorn, living room entertainment."

A second added: "In the end, Extraction must be added to such Netflix entries as Triple Frontier, 6 Underground and Bright as yet another frustrating example of the streaming giant's inability to emulate the blockbuster form."

Extraction follows the story of Tyler Rake, a black market mercenary, who goes on a mission to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord.
