Wedding bells are ringing for Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson, according to reports.
This week, UK publication The Mirror claimed that the Coldplay frontman asked the 34-year-old Fifty Shades of Grey actress for her hand in marriage "a while ago".
The couple have kept their romance private since sparking romance rumors six years ago after they were spotted on a romantic date at a sushi restaurant in Los Angeles.
And now, it appears that the couple are taking the next step in their relationship according to reports.
"The couple got engaged a while ago and have kept the news private. But now they are being open about it with their circles," an insider claimed to the publication. "They have been besotted with each other from day one so taking this next step was inevitable."
Per the outlet, the pair has the approval of Martin's ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, with whom he shares daughter Apple, 19, and son Moses, 17. The source also added that they are in "no rush to plan the wedding but are just enjoying making their commitment official".
Rumors of the couple getting engaged come after the Madame Web star was spotted wearing an emerald green ring on her wedding finger at her 34th birthday in LA last October, according to the publication.
In addition to this, the happy news also comes after Johnson - the daughter of actor Don Johnson and Academy Award-nominated actress Melanie Griffith - opened up about wanting to experience motherhood.
Speaking about being a step-mom to Martin's children, she told Bustle Magazine: "I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart. How do I feel about motherhood? I’m so open to that. I’ve gotten to this place where I really want to experience everything life has to offer.
"And especially being a woman, I’m like: 'What a magical f***ing thing to do. What a crazy, magical, wild experience. If that’s meant to happen for me, I’m totally down for it. We’re not here for very long, so if I’m meant to be a mother, bring it on," she added.
The 47-year-old musician was married to Paltrow for 11 years before announcing their "conscious uncoupling" in 2014 and finalizing their divorce in 2016.
"We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate," they penned in a statement.
Johnson has built a friendship with her fiance's ex-wife and even spoke about how she has learned to embrace relationships that aren't blood-related.
"I grew up in a family that was so big, and I just believe in the saying 'Blood is thicker than water,'" she said. "The actual saying is 'The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb,' which means that the connections with people you choose are more solid than the connections to the people you’re actually born to."
