When it comes to 'nepo babies' in Hollywood, a lot is made of stars who find themselves in major roles thanks to their famous or well connected relatives. However, very few of them are cast as victims of a horrific nuclear disaster in their dad's film.

But Flora Nolan can now proudly boast this achievement.

Flora, whose father Christopher will see his latest epic, Oppenheimer, released on July 21, is credited as 'Burn Victim' in the film, which tells the story of American physicist J Robert Oppenheimer and his involvement in the development of the atomic bomb.

Oppenheimer's creation would eventually be used by the United States to kill an estimated 214,000 Japanese people, the majority of them civilians, across Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It is expected that scenes related to these nuclear attacks are the reason why people who have seen advanced screenings of the film have been leaving feeling "devastated" and unable to speak, according to Nolan.

During a recent interview with The Telegraph, the director, who previously helmed such pictures as The Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception, revealed that when his 22-year-old daughter visited the Oppenheimer set with his wife, producer Emma Thomas, he realized she could be cast as a young, nameless woman who has the flesh removed from her face by a nuclear blast, in a scene that happens within Oppenheimer's mind.

"We needed someone to do that small part of a somewhat experimental and spontaneous sequence. So it was wonderful to just have her sort of roll with it.

"Truthfully, I try not to analyze my own intentions. But the point is that if you create the ultimate destructive power it will also destroy those who are near and dear to you. I suppose this was my way of expressing that in what, to me, were the strongest possible terms."

Flora had previously been cast as 'Girl on Truck' in Nolan's sci-fi thriller Interstellar. She is currently studying at the New York University Tisch School of Arts. Although we're not sure they give classes dedicated to the melting of faces in dream sequences at Tisch.

According to an interview with the official Tisch website, Flora hosts a bi-weekly podcast with two of her friends and is working on a number of projects including several short films while she also produces scores for her friends' projects during her study of the Collaborative Arts.
