The next Bachelorette has been announced as Clare Crawley on Good Morning America. The news comes as fans of the hit dating show eagerly await the conclusion of the current series of The Bachelor, starring Peter Weber.
"I literally just found out," Crawley said of the announcement, per People. "So unexpected, can you believe this? Six years later? What is happening?"

The 38-year-old then brought up her age, which is notably older than recent Bachelor and Bachelorette stars.
She said: "I feel like a lot of people put it out there as this negative thing. For me, it's just more years under my belt. More years learning and knowing what I want and what I won't settle for."

During the segment, Crawley opened up about the type of man she's hoping to find on the show, saying: "I want a man that will take off his armor. I want a man that is strong but is willing to take off the body armor, open themselves up and be vulnerable. I think that is some serious strength right there."
"The biggest thing for me is, honestly, it's all what's on the inside for me,” she added. "The outside, if you line up all the guys I've dated in the past, there's no one type physically. It's more, if they go out of their way for me, if they make me feel special. This is about me now. I'm ready for it."

Crawley first came to the public's attention in 2014 when she appeared in season 18 of The Bachelor, where she competed for the heart of Juan Pablo Galavis. She very nearly won the show, coming in second, but before Galavis could decide on a winner, she dumped him, saying that she'd "lost respect" for him.
She said of the incident: "I am that strong woman still, but even more so what is added to that is, like I said, taking off that armor and actually saying I'm strong enough to let someone in and be vulnerable and open up and share that with them."
Who could forget when Katy Perry had to be dragged away from the new bachelorette in 2018?

Crawley tried her luck on the show again in The Bachelor Winter Games in 2018. This resulted in a proposal from Benoit Beauséjour-Savard. However, the engagement wasn't to last because she simply had feelings for someone else - fellow contestant Christian Rauch.
A devastated Beauséjour-Savard then quit the show, but the pair later reconciled, and he proposed on The Bachelor Winter Games: World Tells All. The pair subsequently broke up amicably.
"It's with a heavy heart that we have mutually decided to end our relationship," Crawley said of the breakup. "We think the world of each other, and we were both hoping we could make this work."
"I'm sorry that this may not be what you want to hear, but it's our truth. Just know there are no negative feelings here, we are simply two people who believed in love, and were open enough to give it a chance."
I don't know about you, but I cannot wait to see some more roses being handed out!
