Fans have been left divided when it comes to their opinions on Demi Lovato's engagement ring.

On December 17, People announced that the 31-year-old was taking her relationship to the next level after accepting a proposal by her boyfriend of a year, musician Jordan 'Jutes' Lutes.

The event, which was described as a "personal and intimate proposal" by the outlet, took place on Saturday in Los Angeles as confirmed by the singer herself.

The couple also later took to Instagram to post about the happy news themselves, reposting photos that showed them dressed in matching black outfits surrounded by red rose petals and candles. The second photo showed off a close-up of Lovato's ring, with a stunning, pear-shaped diamond.

Have a look at the post below:

The bespoke piece of jewelry was rumored to have been hand-picked by Jutes himself and the diamond ring was created in collaboration with N.Y.C.-based fine jewelry boutique Material Good.

The musician worked closely on the design with Teresa Panico, Material Good's Director of Marketing and Fine Jewelry, at the retailer's SoHo, New York City, location.

Fans seem to be divided over the piece, with some loving it, while others not feeling the vibe.

"Hopefully he kept the receipt," wrote one person, while another seemed unsure about it, writing: "Uhhh... not sure about this one..."

A third even described it as a "Walmart" ring which was pretty harsh.

However, others were loving it.

"Love the pear diamond!" this Instagram user stated.

"Congratulations on your engagement! This is the one! Gorgeous Diamond," another added, while this user also commented, writing: "What a pretty ring."

"I’m still speechless. Last night was the best night of my life and I can’t believe I get to marry the love of my life @jutesmusic... My love, I’m beyond excited to marry you... every day I’ve spent with you has been a dream come true and I can’t wait to love and cherish you forever. Here’s to the rest of our lives. I love you baby," wrote Lovato in the caption.

In his own post, her fiancé wrote: "Yesterday I asked my best friend to marry me and she said yes. I can’t imagine my life without you and thank god now I’ll never have to. Feeling like the luckiest man alive right now. I’m so in love with you @ddlovato."

The couple first met in January 2022 when they co-wrote Lovato's song 'Substance' together, and went public with their relationship in late summer of that year.

Aside from co-writing the hit with Lovato - who goes by she/them pronouns now - Jutes also has writing credits on her songs 'Happy Ending' and 'City of Angels' which are all off of Lovato's eighth album titled Holy Fvck.

Speaking of how love has impacted her life earlier in the year, Lovato told CBS Mornings that she's in a "good place."

"I definitely am in a really good place," she said during the interview. "I don't know what I'm going to write about on my next album because I'm so happy. It is a really good feeling ... definitely a bunch of sappy love songs — for sure."

And then in July, the 'Heart Attack' singer also emphasized that she and her man started off as friends before their relationship evolved.

"We became friends first. We were friends for several months and then we decided to start dating and, well, after we told each other how we felt," she said.

Congratulations to the happy couple - we wish them all the best with their engagement and beyond.
