Many members of the LGBTQ+ community have said they knew they were queer after specific incidents in their lives, and now Demi Lovato has revealed the movie that reportedly did it for her.
In a new interview for Facebook Watch's "Coming Out 2020", she said that it was the scene in Cruel Intentions where Sarah Michelle Gellar's character Kathryn Merteuil gave her friend Cecile Caldwell (Selma Blair) a lesson on how to kiss.
"It was definitely when I was young and definitely should not have been watching 'Cruel Intentions' but did, and it was that scene where they made out on the park lawn," Lovato said of the scene.

"I was just like, 'Oh wait a minute, I really like that, I want to try it,'" Lovato explained. "And then when I was 17, I did get down with that and that's when I knew. You want the tea? That's it!"
The singer then revealed that she has written songs about women which fans have thought are about men.
"There were times I wrote songs about girls that my fans thought I wrote about guys," she explained. "I'm surprised that some of them didn't figure out that some of the songs were for certain people."
I was sharing it with the world, yet I wasn't being completely obvious with what I was talking about," she added. "Music was my safe space."
Lovato told InStyle back in 2018 that she was queer and described her sexuality as "very fluid".
"I think love is love," she told the publication at the time. "You can find it in any gender. I like the freedom of being able to flirt with whoever I want.
Then, in an interview with Andy Cohen on his Radio Andy Sirius XM Show in January, Lovato revealed what happened when she came out to her parents in 2017.
"It was actually, like emotional, but really beautiful," she said. "After everything was done I was like shaking and crying and I just felt overwhelmed."

This revelation comes after Lovato recently called off her engagement to Max Ehrich after a whirlwind romance.
Two months after he popped the question on a Malibu beach, the pair called off their engagement, TMZ revealed.
A source close to the singer told the news outlet: "It was a tough decision, but Demi and Max have decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers."
The source added: "They have respect and love for one another and will always cherish the time they spent together."
