Dolly Parton has opened up about potentially retiring, but the star's response to the idea has left fans in stitches.
Speaking to Ken Bruce during an interview on Greatest Hits Radio, the legendary country singer said that she doesn't ever plan on hanging her glittery cowboy boots up.
Instead, she joked that she hopes she just "drops dead."
"I would never retire," Parton told the host. "I’ll just hopefully drop dead in the middle of a song onstage someday, hopefully, one I’ve written. But anyway, that’s how I hope to go because we don’t have much of a choice in that."
She continued: "As long as I’m able to work, as long as my health is good and my husband is good, the only way that I would ever slow down would be for that reason."
"In the meantime, I’m going to make hay while the sun shines," she added.
The news comes shortly after the 77-year-old recently announced that she would be releasing her first rock album titled 'Rockstar' which is scheduled to be released later this year.
Talking about the project on her official website, Parton said: "I'm so excited to finally present my first Rock and Roll album Rockstar! I am very honored and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time and to be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album was a joy beyond measure.
She added: "I hope everybody enjoys the album as much as I've enjoyed putting it together!"

The album, which is set to be released on November 17, is expected to be a 30-song record featuring nine original tracks as well as 21 iconic rock covers and has input from other legendary artists.
The lead song titled 'World On Fire' was released back in May to give fans a taster of what the new album is all about with Parton performing a rendition of it during the Academy of Country Music Awards.
"This is a song I felt very inspired to write," Dolly said of the track. "I think it speaks about everything and to
everyone this day and time. I hope it is something that will touch you and maybe touch enough people to want to make a change for the better."
'Rockstar' is available to pre-order now via Parton's official website.
