Drew Carey has revealed the last conversation he had with his ex-fiancée Amie Harwick.
Harwick - who penned The New Sex Bible for Women - was murdered back in February of 2020 by an attacker who threw her from a balcony. She was just 38.
The tragic story is the subject of a new CBS special called 48 Hours: The Final Hours of Amie Harwick. In a preview for the episode, The Price is Right host can be seen opening up about the final text exchange he shared with Harwick before her death.
"I got a text from her [that read], 'I would love to get together with you and talk,'" Carey, now 63, recalls. "And I said, 'Yeah, I would love to do that. I love you.'"
Carey and Harwick got engaged in January 2018, People reports. However, it wasn't all plain sailing for the couple and they separated later that year.
In the preview, Carey is asked by 48 Hours correspondent Erin Moriarty if he's "sad" that he "never got the chance" to meet up with his ex-fiancée.
"I never got it," Carey says. "I never had a chance to do it."
Moriarty reminds the TV presenter that Harwick loved him, and his voice shakes emotionally as he says: "That's the big solace I get from it, is that she loved me. And I'm glad I could get that message to her before she died."
The CBS special will shed light on the sex therapist's brutal killing.
Following her death, police charged another of Harwick's ex-boyfriends - 41-year-old Gareth Pursehouse - with her murder, alleging that he waited outside her Hollywood Hills apartment before attacking her inside her home.
Harwick had been granted two restraining orders against Pursehouse prior to her death, who police claim threw her to her death from the third-floor balcony of her home. He has since pleaded not guilty.

Per People, Carey went on to tell 48 Hours that he hasn't fully moved on from Harwick, with whom he remained extremely close even after they broke up.
"I don't know if I'll ever want to celebrate Valentine's Day with a dinner. You know? I just don't want to do anything. Valentine's Day sucks now. That's not a good day to remember," he said, referring to the anniversary of Harwick's death on February 15.
"I think about her every single day. You want an intimate relationship where you can open up to somebody completely and be yourself. And she was that for me," Carey added.
48 Hours: The Final Hours of Amie Harwick premieres on February 13 on CBS and will also be available to stream on Paramount+.
